It's always great when games that try to do something unique get discovered by many people, and are rewarded for their efforts.
And what a game it was. I beat it a year ago, and I'm still thinking about it.

And as always, shoutouts to that one guy who said "that niche shit doesn't matter" when it comes to sales.

Amazing game, I was doubtful for it but boy it was great.
One of the finest games this gen.

I wonder what is the proportion of ps4 and x1. I think at least 4:1 and no more than 7:1 on playstation 4 favor.

Prediction: In 5 years Nintendo will Lauch a "Core Mario game"  very similar to Astro Bot. That said, many will Ignore Astro Bot existence and say Nintendo created this concept.

I was wondering if I should make a thread about this bit of news,... you saved me the trouble!

Also the news of Days Gone, doing so well, outsides the US.
It seems to be doing well in Japan, Europe, RoW.

Im gonna assume its atleast 5 to 1, with reguards to sales.

*edit: Its probably higher than that, following the logic of posters below.

It's a Japanese game.
PS4 has over double the userbase.
It released as a PS4 console exclusive and was available to buy for 16 months longer than the X1 version.
Game is only available as a digital download on X1.

4:1 in favor of PS4 would be insanely good for the X1. Absolutely impossible. Maybe if it launched at the same time. 8:1 to 10:1 is much more realistic.

I should probably play that.

Wow, 8:1 to 10:1 would be insane! I mean, there are pc sales to considere, and this game probably got some numbers on pc, at least 500k perahps? so... do you think xbox sales for Nier are around 300-400k?

That would work out like:

350k XB1
2.8m PS4
850k PC

Maybe? not sure how well it did on pc.

yeah that's pretty much exactly what I think. Monster Hunter World is around 1m physical on X1, so let's say 1.3m in total and that's a far more known franchise that released at the same day as the PS4 version and is also physically available. Resident Evil 7 has very similar numbers.
I don't see how Nier Automata would be anywhere close to that. Around 500k lifetime (unless they release a physical version, which could push sales a bit).
