No shareholder likes to see revenue dropping, when they see revenue starting dropping in an area, heads begin to roll on that area no matter if the company as a whole has positive cash flow. 

I used to cheer-lead GTA V sales. Like.... as if, I was some vacuous....cheerleader. I really was just an ignoramus though. I swear it.

I remember arguing, well, talking really, with people on here about how, and why, RDR 2 would never reach GTA V levels of sales. And it so frickin' won't. Deluxe armored wagons and new stupid, spotted-horse variants would never have been enough even under optimal conditions. And the state of RDR 2 is far from optimal.

It seems they overshipped RDR2 a bit. Still, 30 million is pretty much guaranteed this gen for the game.

Definitely a bit overshipped. Next quarter will be more interesting in that regard.
With a next gen port and maybe a PC release it shouldn't have any trouble getting to 50m.

Any word about how their micro transactions completely dwarf the revenue they got from the sale of the games?

Given the tepid reception of the online portion of the game, I'd bet you a coke that the $$$ sales of the game still outstrips the MT $$$. If such data were available.
