Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Tetris 99 getting offline modes - as paid DLC

That's a hard no from me. Is anyone actually going to pay this?

If it were $5 I'd be down, but $10, might as well buy Puyo Puyo Tetris or something.

I wish Tetris Effect was on Switch.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

They might as well make a Battle Pass for Tetris 99

Pocky Lover Boy!

hmmmm... it's 9.99 for 2 dlc packs, his one is the first and some other offline muliplayer is coming as an extra pack later on if you buy this, so Im not really sure..., can it be thought of as 2dlc packs for 5 each? but still It's also paying for dlc in a game tha's behind a paywall. I mean they're asking the people who gave them 20 for access to this game for another 10 to add a feaure to it, not really sure I like where that's going.

Yeah, right? I hadn't even thought about this. If you buy the DLC and let the subscription expire, can you no longer play the game? That's bullcrap.

oooo wait in the dlc description it reads "if you dont have a nintendo switch online pass but want to play tetris 99 then you can enjoy it offline by buying the big block dlc" so you can launch the app with this dlc and just not play online but play bots or marathon with the dlc

Please buy it, so ARIKA will take some more money and this will increase chances to release TGM4 one day.

Oof, alright then, that makes sense. In that case eh, I don't think there's much wrong with this. Definitely not gonna be the guy paying $10 for it, though.

I love the shit outta tetris, in puyo tetris I'm about 1.5x the rank of the number two player in the online leaderboard in my region. (to clarify, I'm num1 with the rating of the number 2 player... plus 50% more than him)

also from my firs 10 games of tetris 99

3 wins once I found my footing with the mechanics of it.... I love tetris, but 10e dlc is steep.

This DLC should have been free for NO members.
Non-NO players would need to pay 10eur... or join NO.

Nintendo said they understood that Tetris 99 helped the Nintendo Online subscription rate but they fail to promote it even further just to gauge the Tetris fans.

You say tomato, I say tomato

"¡Viva la Ñ!"

The game is free to play in general, so I don't see what would be the issue with buying the offline version. 10$ is a little pricey, though, especially because I already have Puyo Puyo Tetris.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Not a big Tetris fan so it won't get a buy from me but I don't see any actual problems with it. I'm not sure if marketing the new content as DLC is the right way to go though as that will irk some people irregardless of if it's fair practice or not. Just marketing it as a standalone game would probably be wiser.

Giving those with an online subscription free access to the online part (could be limited to one or two modes if there are several) of certain smaller games would be an interesting model, much more so than giving away NES games.
