Forums - Gaming Discussion - Sega acquires Two Point Studios

Two Point Studios is the successor to Lionhead and includes allot of key personnel from Bullfrog too... Big win for Sega.

Interesting acquisition. I hope moves to pick up new studios, along with a re-alignment to classic franchises will help get the Sega machine running like the old days:

It's surprising that they haven't been more prominent since their Switch to a focus on games. I would say withholding popular (non-Sonic) franchises, along with variable quality on the titles they do release has hurt the brand.

Good. Where can I sign up for the SEGA Game Store?

What IP's do they get with this?

So far  only Two Point Hospital, a spiritual successor of Theme Hospital, but it was generally reviewed positively. The founders worked on Theme Hospital, Black&White and Fable for Lionhead and Bullfrog.

EDIT: Oh, I should give my take on this: I think this is great. The personnel seems to be qualified and they will be able to expand with Sammys resources behind it. And the genres they work in actually fill a void in Segas and Atlus lineup.

I didn't recognize Two Point, but Lionhead and Bullfrog are names I think highly of.  I hope to see a lot more games like these studios made.  Sounds like a good acquisition for Sega.

That is some exciting news. Two Point Hospital was great and I hope they can "remake" the other games too.

Me too. Waiting since 1995 for a worthy successor of Theme Park. It's about time

Sega used to be one of my favorite publishers and I've been hoping for them to make a huge comeback in the console market similar to what Capcom achieved in little over a year with Monster Hunter World, Resident Evil 2 Remake and Devil May Cry 5.

In the meantime, it's great to see them have success on PC.
