Yea those hammers were a good addition.  I didn't use much in town but I loved that hammer mini game where you tried to whack that car as much as possible.  Key was getting in front of it so you could get least 2-4 good smacks in till it pushed you to the side.  Then when it falls over start nailing it like crazy.

Yes I used those tactics. Get in front of it, let it push you along as you turn to face it, then get 3 or 4 hits in. It was also good fun with 4 players trying to ambush each other too.

Yea those island mini games were mainly fun. Hammer one of course best.  The others were hit or miss. What's crazy is with that amiibo update they added those two mini games through 3DS and Wii U consoles in game and they actually put a little effort and those mini games were decent but it happened so late in the games lifespan that few actually played them.

Agreed about the hammer game being the best. Diving was good too but could be frustrating. Fruit maze was good too, once you had worked it out. I hated the home décor memory match game though!

Was you talking about the Amiibo festival game on wii u? The mini games they added were far better than the main game imo.

DON'T WIN ME CHIBI BUDDY DON'T WIN ME.

ANIMAL CROSSING NEW LEAF FRIEND CODE:- 5129 1175 1029. MESSAGE ME.
ANDY MURRAY:- GRAND SLAM WINNER!

In my opinion the N64 was not just the best console of the 5th gen but, to this day the best console ever created!

Mini games they added to New Leaf better than amiibo festival?  Glad i never bought amiibo festival.  It looked like a reskin of Fortune Street with Animal Crossing.

Well didn't really get too much new info on the direct but it did go into detail more about everything. One thing I thought was funny was the mention at end of FREE DLC holiday updates...

Do they think most consumers are idiots now? Those holiday events were in every base game. Maybe they are talking about something more than the usual holiday event but it doesn't seem like it. Wow thanks for not including it in the game at first and then patching it in free later!!! Almost like an EA move taking something out of a series game to add it later only at least they didn't have nerve to charge.

Actually, I think they mentioned this because of the negative info about the DLC that was brewing across the webs in the weeks before the Direct.  They were also explaining the way that they would protect players from being spoiled on holiday content by time travelers.  Nothing here to complain about, in my opinion.

Yea it isn't anything to complain about but it is funny that they are trying to market that.  It comes across to me that they are releasing an unfinished game if they don't even have the holiday events in game yet.

I really don't think that's the case...and if it is, it actually makes me more excited at the possibility that future holiday events might be different year to year.

Yea you are right.  There is a potential to mix things up.  It did get a little boring doing the same event every year and having it different from year to year would definitely add some spice to the game.

Unless you have no internet access then this doesn't change anything as long as the updates drop in time for their respective holidays. We wouldn't see this content until such time anyway, it just allows the devs to allocate their time better, prioritize the content people will see first. However, there is a number of notable characters and features missing that were in prior games like Kappn, Harriet n Tortimer. It's possible they're there and we just haven't seen them yet, or they'll be added in later. I still feel the game lacks activities like the Island and it's mini games from New Leaf, really hope that changes.

Kappn and other major characters have to be in the game.  Kappn isn't the pilot of the plane to the island?

I'm sure there has to be some mini games like they had on island in New Leaf.  With up to 8 people online or local co op play it would be a shame to not include something similar.

There should be a battle royale with hammers.
