Is anyone here interested in Terminator: Dark Fate?

As for me, I'd give this a pass after 3 bad movies in a row, but this one (surprisingly) has my attention for several reasons. 1)It's got Tim Miller, director of the first Deadpool movie with James Cameron returning as a producer, so it'll have his input as well. That alone gives me hope. 2)It's getting the Halloween treatment, ignoring all the shitty sequels and pretending T3-T5 never happened, YAY! 3)Linda Hamilton's coming back. 4)They actually revealed footage at CinemaCon 2019 and the reactions were very positive, saying Cameron's influence was very much there.

However, if it's another watered-down PG-13 Terminator, then I might just Redbox or Putlocker it. If, by now, they STILL haven't learned their lesson after AVP, the last 2 Terminator movies and RoboCop 2014, then they deserve another flop. However, all signs point to it being rated R, for real this time, unlike when McG said they were aiming for an R rating with Terminator: Salvation. MacKenzie Davis apparently has a pretty revealing nude scene from the CinemaCon footage, another sign that it's returning to its R roots. I'm not saying make movies overly violent/gory just for the sake of it, but fuckin' A, it's the Terminator, a series known for its brutality and grittiness, which the last 2 films completely lacked. It doesn't guarantee a good movie (T3 also sucked), but it IS an important element of the franchise. It's about time the series returned to its roots and Terminator was actually scary/intense again.

I still love Terminator, despite the fact the series hasn't produced a great--or even good--movie in 28 years. I'll definitely check out this one, at the very least via Redbox. If the previews are good, I might pony up for a theater ticket. I've just been burned many times already, so I'll approach with caution.

I'm still really annoyed that RoboCop 2014 was more successful than Dredd, when it's quite clear which was the superior reboot. At least the next RoboCop reboot is being done by Neill Blomkamp so I'm expecting good things!

As for this new Terminator, I honestly wasn't even aware of it until very recently, but yeah I'm looking forward to it... despite how bad the series has gotten, I've still been excited to see each new film in hopes it lives up to how great the original two were, lol. Hopefully this will be the one!

I'm a masochist

I'm quite sure I no longer care, and I have lots of stuff to entertain me that I know I'll like. If I'm going to roll the dice on a movie or tv show, I'd rather it be on something new than on an old AF, tired "franchise" getting blorted out of one of the Hollywood movie factories. I honestly didn't even know this new Terminator was a thing, and it was only yesterday I heard about the 5th Indiana Jones movie coming in 2021. Ugh......Even John Wick 3.....I loved John Wick, and to a slightly lesser extent, it's sequel. But this new one,,,,ughh. And the The Continental TV series set in the Wick-verse?...Uhhhgggggggg.

It really is... like, so fucking disgusting. RoboCop made $242.7m, whereas Dredd only made $41.5m... things like this confuse me. :(

I did not enjoy Deadpool, no endorsement there. Linda Hamilton coming back also rules out the only thing that could still be interesting, going further back in the past.

We don't even have a trailer yet but the answer is yes. I watch a lot of movies, many of them crappy movies, so even if the movie turns out to be bad at least I'll be up to date in the latest entry to the underwhelming Terminator follow ups.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

It looks like it has potential by the information we have, but what it really needs to succeed, is sacrifice. At the very least, they need to portray that feeling heavily. T3 until now hasn't done that. T1 and T2 were dark and gritty and have that feeling throughout, like they just might not make it. I mean, they are fighting advanced robotic AI from the future that has wiped out humanity for the most part. If it seems too easy to succeed and proceed, you instantly lose the audience. It needs to be a slow grueling tactical fight.
