I still vividly remember my first post on VGC cause it aged as well as milk that was left in the middle of the Sahara desert for 5 years.

My topics on the top of this page and then you should see even the posts from 2007

Thanks, that brings me farther back. But not the right order. The last thread there is a thread I posted in and which was the one that got not much later posts. Other threads I might posted earlier, but they got more posts. So the last thread has a post of me, which references an even earlier post. If that is the first is hard to say

@TalonMan We need an easier way to find our first post.

How is Kirby's response, not the answer? Am I misunderstanding the question? I'm not 100% sure I even follow what @Mnementh was saying in that response...?

Kirby's response showed the threads that turn up ulimately in my buddy, basically the ones I posted in. But this is for threads. I still have to find my post. Also the order of this is by the date the last time was posted in the thread - not necesarily by me. So a thread I posted in but that had a lot of traffic afterwards may not be the last in the list, it well may be a thread I posted later in, but the traffic dying faster. This is highlighted by the fact that the post I found by Kirby's method referenced a post I made earlier.

My posts stops sometimes in the past, I guess the db-format did change slightly.

I removed the time span restriction under the User Profile -> Posts -> User's Posts tab, for now:

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/profile/2239/mnementh/posts/all/500/#content

 - I think this will get you what you're looking for. I'm aware the page navigation is terrible (especially when you have 9000+ results!) - this is already on my to-do list, but for now I was able to fiddle with the URL to get to the last page of the results

 - I don't know why the restriction was put in, in the first place - if it turns out to be related to a performance issue, it will have to be put back in.

 - I'm not 100% confident there isn't some kind of data integrity issue (combined with a performance problem) which is what ultimately led to the restriction being added - whatever happened here, happened during the 10yr or so hiatus I had taken from VGChartz. So, I can't say with total certainty whether ALL data is accounted for, or whether there are missing posts that are unrecoverable. Only you guys will be able to tell me this.

OK, that's exactly it, my first posts. I wasn't aware either, that I am so close to 10K posts, I was just surprised that the URL had the clean 500 in it and that really is the last page for my posts. Thanks Talon for letting me go back in time.

Anyways, my first five posts are quite interesting:

  • first two posts are in a thread about video game crushes from nobody else as Gballzack - who still remembers? (also note: I made my account two months earlier)
  • my third post is kinda prophetic: on the news of Fallout 3 I wrote this: "The only thing is, that it is no longer developed by Black Isle. I hope Bethesda make the same great quality."
  • my fourth post is actually my first thread with record breaking zero replies
  • and my fifth post was about that incredible formula one race which decided this extremely close championship, ioi is even threatening with bans in this legendary thread

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

First post in a thread about my favorite games of all-time in July 2007 (all those games are still in my Top 10)

Presently, it's pretty much accepted for fact that Wii sales are limited by supplies coming in each week but that fact had me wondering for a while how much it would sell if every person who WANTS a Wii would magically find one. What would be the first weekly sales of an unlimited Wii? and what would sales in the next weeks be like?

My (very) amateur guess would be around 450k on the first week and around 250k the following weeks...  what do you guys thinks? Too high, too low?

Signature goes here!

Supply constraint was a great joke
