Forums - Gaming Discussion - Team Sonic Racing has seen quite an improvement

Where a lot of games tend to look worse as release approaches, TSR looks to be have received a great deal of polish since it was first shown almost a year ago. I'm not sure I can actually remember the last time i saw a game get such a noticeable touch up in the run up to launch.

2018:

Now:

I'm really looking forward to this one, been craving some fresh Kart action as it's been 5 years now since Mario Kart 8.

It's by Sumo, the guys behind Sonic All Stars Racing on Wii/PS3/360 and Transformed on Wii U/PS3/360, so it should be good.

To their credit, it does look like a step-up from the initial reveal.

I still think making it Sonic-only was a mistake though.

Sonic-only?

I hope it still has mission mode or whatever it was called in transformed, that's the one thing sonic racing games have over mario kart.

I still think it looks kinda bland compared to mk8d and ctr. But I'll be glad to be proven wrong.

This and Shakedown Hawaii make for a pretty good May for Switch - even with the drought of 1st party content. Hopefully the Sonic trailer doesn't drag down sales.

Then again, people can always go back to the classics:

It's confirmed to have a story mode similar to prior games.

Damn, didn't even have this on my radar. That's gonna be an instant buy, the Sonic racing games have been nothing short of fantastic.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Given the previous ones were Sega crossovers and this one degraded it to being just Sonic, I just don't want to buy it, honestly. Even though the last game was fantastic.

I definitely preferred the second part of that gameplay trailer, the first one was way too chatty for me. Hope they'll tone that down a notch, or 15.
