If we're going off of the scientific consensus about hypergamy then my understanding is if goes both ways. Women want men who are higher in social standing, men want women that are more attractive than they are. Wouldn't this then lead to the brutal truth that men only love women as long as they are hot?

men are attracted to younger, prettier women that is true but a man's love is sacrificial, being a provider and protector is selfless, it is a bad deal but the man takes it anyway, he could just keep his resources to himself but instead he hands it over to a woman. A woman's love is transactional or selfish, she doesn't sacrifice anything, she's only with the man because he provides her with a higher standard of living. Consider this do you think men would allow their wives to freeze to death in the water after the titanic sank while they rowed to safety, no that is the last thing a man would want, he wouldn't be able to live with the shame and guilt. A man would die for his wife but a woman wouldn't do the same for her husband under any circumstances because their love isn't sacrificial. This explains it better.

But the tax you pay funds the infrastructure, utilities, police, emergency services, education, public buildings and institutions etc that you use so you are least getting something back.

Because when someone says that I expect to see a scientific study, a review of the available literature, y'know....sciencey shit. What I don't expect is a youtube video who doesn't back up any of his claims beyond "you all know it's true right?" based off a single web article on the different forms of love ancient Greeks had words for. 

Well hypergamy is an evolutionary instinct that is indisputable. Men are the sacrificial sex, i mean observable reality should make that patently clear. Just look at youtbe video's of everyday heroes risking their lives to save others, they're 99% men. Men act quickly regardless of danger to help the victim of an accident where as the women stand there doing nothing or run away in distress, they are risk averse and will prioritise their safety before anyone else's except maybe that of their childs and even that's not guaranteed.

I remember seeing studies that showed a mans social economic performance was his greatest attraction for a woman but this was years ago and in this gynocentric society the leftist media is not going to reveal data that show women to be shallow goldiggers because it might hurt their feelings. You had to make it political.....  The truth is you get what you look for.  I do not know what type of women you meet but the ones I have met are the rid or die type.  Meaning they would kill for you no matter how much money or status you have.  They would lay down their lives for you and care for you if you came up broken beyond belief. The Truth is, if you are a shallow person you probably attract the same type of person.  You will walk around believing you are this great person but in reality you are just as shallow as the person you chose to live with.

Either way, those videos are a joke.  Some hurt bastard trying to paint a broad stroke on every woman with nothing more behind it then a pity train looking for others in the same place.
