The first episode will release before we even hear anything about Metroid Prime 4 gameplay.

And? How about the full game? OP asked the full game, not just the 1st ep. Also, in 2015, we saw FFVIIR gameplay footage too, the result? Well,... :))

The full game will release before we even hear anything about Metroid Prime 4 gameplay.

Nope, I'm still betting on MP4 on releasing first.

Unless we see a proper release date soon, I'm assuming FFVII-R is still years away. Infact, we saw gameplay as far back as PSX 2015 This doesn't change anything for me.

This guy gets it. I remember E3 2015 vividly, and everyone including journalists were certain that FF7R was a couple years from release. Fast forward to PSX (gameplay trailer unveiled) that same year and people were convinced.

Then......... nothing....

FFVII's 20th anniversary..... nothing...

Then the bad press started piling through, with one man from SE stating in a pulled interview that they had scrapped ALL the previous work that CyberConnect did.

Turns out that was true, because SE went on a hiring spree.

Fast forward to 2019 and that interview rings even more true now that we've seen the character models are indeed different, both on a a scale of character design AND engine design (2015 gameplay was Unreal 4)

SO, here we are again, and now the lemmings are lining up just like last time, saying that the game "can't be too far off now"...

Just like 2015, this new game play doesn't mean ANYTHING...

Yes it does lol. Gameplay means the game is progressing. The game was progressing in 2015 before it got rebooted. It’s hard to imagine the game will be rebooted again, and Nomura already has his plans leading to launch.

It was like FFXV before and after this new footage it's like FFXV right now ?

Still waiting for you to show gameplay or much less ANYTHING about MP4. Heck, Nintendo can't even show a CINEMATIC TRAILER for it ...

Why should they bother making a cinematic trailer, exactly?

Perhaps in order to fool people in the same way that this FF VII trailer fooled fatslob?

fatslob jumped to the conclusion that the game is far along already, specifically that Nibelheim is basically done. But a big caveat is that cutscenes are developed separately from the game itself, so cutscenes are usually much further ahead in development because they only depict limited parts of locations.

The next catch is that the scene fatslob thinks of as Nibelheim is doubted to be Nibelheim because it shows a paved road and building structures of a metropolis, neither of which are fitting for the original Nibelheim. The environment points to Midgar, the beginning city of Final Fantasy VII. All other cutscenes are from Midgar. All gameplay scenes are from Midgar.

It's basically like we had a hypothetical remake of the first Metroid Prime and got to see a trailer that only shows the initial space station with its cutscenes and enemy encounters, and then concluded that the game must be halfway done already.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV (360+PS3) would outsell SSBB. I was wrong.

Still MP4.

Gameplay > Graphics

Substance > Style

Art Direction > Realism

You only said FFVIIR, not FFVIIR episode 1, by common logic, no one will think it's just episode 1 of FFVIIR, but the full game instead, unless you think they will release it as a full game, not an episodic release. Well, in that case, i have bad news for you: https://www.resetera.com/threads/final-fantasy-7-remake-is-still-an-episodic-release.116187/
