I havm't seen anything quite that drastic yet but what I have seen is very pretty indeed. The game oozes atmosphere and can look better than Horizon at times but lacks the consistency. That is really impressive footage, I'll keep an eye on the weather more closely, you'd almost imagine that, that layer of snow has it's own individual flake, perfectly timed. I'm wondering now if the wind could combine with the snowfall or is this location based and somewhat static, impressive eother way.

Horizon is the best looking game I've ever seen, I was in absolute awe while playing it, the world was just absolutely gorgeous... if you're telling me that this can match, and even surpass that, then I'm gonna' be in for a treat :o

In places, yes. On a pro at 4k on a HDR TV. It is inconsistent, with some textures bringing it down but when you get the right scene, vista or something really well crafted like forests and esspecially the forest floor fooliage it's stunning. The forests when the wind gets going and rain starts to fall heavily is brilliant. Horizon has that art style woven through and consistency in every aspect and detail so perhaps not thr best example. It's kind of unique in that it looks real and like a painting at the same time, like RDR2 but actual 4k or very close to it.

I'd reckon the inconsistency comes a lot from the dynamic day night cycle and weather, too as this evening I revisited an early game area, one that I was previously at on an overcast dusk, night and stromy morning which looked kinda meh but this time it was sunny, bright and really atmospheric and eye popping in detail, looked incredible. It's a pretty standard garage and motel car park so my jae droppping at that is saying something and going straight into a dark and manky tunnel afterward brought a me a chill, they nailed the atmosphere by bringing the detail and it has paid off.

I have to say that days gone looks beautiful in hdr. One of the best hdr implementation.

A little bit late but I'm gonna guess a score of 72.

Reviewers got this so wrong, woke up early this morning ans had to go batton down some shit cause of wind, couldn't get back to sleep if I wanted to cause I pit this on and it hooked me more than a game has since God of war. It's not a narrative masterpiece, far from it and I'm not comparing it to GoW but it is brilliant in it's own way. It is beyond solid and does so much well above the level of what we consider great in single player games.

I've heard three strongly pushed and brunt right wing views from the characters now in the last 4 or 5 hours of game time and I'm like, why Bend? What the fuck were you thinking. How did yout think that would go over with reviewers and I can't blame the reviewers here either cause it is so ham fisted with not an air of wit, I'm sure they thought it would add to the relaism of the characters but no no it does not. It comes across as if you are trying to push this narrative through the medium. I can only imagine the shock this would give californian reviewers and I see now very clearly where the oddly scored reviews (as opposed the written content) are coming from. This is there own fault for being so brunt with not an air of delicacy for the topics the characters go on about, Far cry 5 managed it through a kind of satire like presentation but her it takes it so srriously that even I, someone who would be pro second amendments if I lived in the US, felt like I was being sold and indoctrinated on some level. It actually made me resentful now more than once. Couple that with the male generic white guy shit, new IP syndrom and the sharks already smell blood and are looking in the direction of this game, no wonder it had gotten so many 6's or less.
Such a good game, even great at times and it is going to be buried because they didn't handle political topics eith an air of delicacy or even alight wit to make it roll of the shoulder a bit easier. Such a fucking pity the damage is done now and Bend can't blame anyone but themselves for not peeking out from under whatever rock they were under and reading the room. I can't believe I am agreeing with liberal and far left journalists on this matter.

Oh and my first hoard wasn't actually a horad turns out it wad just two or three groups of zombied I had accumulated into a hindred or so strong pack. Looked up how to deal with hoarda on youtube and they are so much more numerous I don't know how my PlayStation will manage to stay intact.

I love how your predictions are always spot on, you should play the lottery! :P

PS. I miss you :(

After playing for a good couple of hours, meta is spot on. Its basically a poor mans Farcry. Ubisoft has put so many copy paste open world games out in the time this game has been in development that this just feels awfully generic, a been there done that type game and unfortunately for this game Ubiworlds are just ... better. Performance wise this is a disappointment from a Sony First Party game, so much slowdown and FPS drops even on the latest patch. The "just another generic white male" angle is actually the games strongest point, Deacon is what carries this game from being bad to middle of the road average. Overall 72 meta is accurate and honestly you would be better of playing Farcry 5.

It did feel like that, open world is over saturated and for something to come along, you have to really have to redefine the genre at this stage for great reviews.

I understand that this game doesn't revolutionize the genre nor bring production values to the next level, but when i hear some critizised points about the game, all of them except frame rate/bugs problems can be said to a lot of other open world games, specifically a game like RDR2. RDR 2 had awful combat, mediocre mission design, useless economy system, broken bounty system, irregular story, empty open world (you only do something if there is some ? pointing in the map), .... and that game received a freaking 97 on metacritic.....I'm still pissed of by that. The double standars in the press are something that i can't accept anymore. If Days Gone is nitpicked for everything and it gets a 75 on metacritic, RDR 2 should had been a 80 game at most too. The Evil within 2, a game that received a 75 on metacritic was a game unfairly rated by the press too and it was ono of the best game in the genre ever. I don't know if there is some bias about the zombie genre or what.

In the end, people can see a lot of videos of the game and playthroughs, and there's a lot of people playing with it. If you want to base your opinion in getting the game or not, base it on people that you trust, because the press is becoming worthless and unreliable.

This game screamed "meh" from the start. I know it's not a bad score but people just expect more and since you're willing to spend your money it has to be something else. In Brazil we say it lacks salt when something is boring and too "normal" like this game seems to be. I didn't play it yet so I can't really say if it's good or not but I won't even bother. Maybe borrow it from a friend in the future.

it makes no damn sense that gamespot gave Anthem better score, when the game has no story, no content, a lot more bugs and flaws.

I am quite convinced that most of the big media sites are biased against the game.
