What Persona 5 Switch you are talking about? BestBuy leaks aren't realiable and Jason from Kotaku is pretty sure that Persona 5 S isn't a Switch port.

Persona 5 S will be the switch version but after watching The Royal trailer it seems like Royal will be ps4 exclusive and Persona 5 S will most likely just be the normal version. If thats the case Persona 5 Switch should be $20 at launch same price as P5 on the ps4

Why P5 R is ps4 exclusive? Because it says so in the trailer so if P5 S is switch version that wont be the enhanced version therefore it will most likely be the normal version and should be $20 at launch

I know this may sound a little paranoid but i dont remember joker having a grappling hook in Persona 5 and him having it in smash was a little weird for me. But now this trailer we see him using it a lot. If smash joker is based on the Vanilla version, why add something from the new version. Unless..........

Questions:

I just started Persona 5 (only defeated the first castle). Just to clarify, are these new features/characters now implemented into original game, if so is it worth continuing or should I wait to get this and start all over to utilize the new features/characters?

...Or are all of these new things occur after the main story game anyways so it wouldn't matter and I can just complete the game now then continue with the new stuff afterwards when I pick this up?

Im sorry, but I fail to see why they would announce both on different days. If a Switch version of P5R exists it would be announced together, or its just a late port to be announced next year.Â
