So far everything in this leak has proven to be 100% accurate, an insider at resetera confirmed that both next-gen xboxes will have 1TB Nvme drive. Now Eurogamer said this 2 quotes recently giving the leak further legitimacy:

"Combine this with the leak that Microsoft is working on an entry-level four teraflop console alongside a 12TF monster (the figures may change but the strategy is accurate, according to our sources)"

"We had heard a while back that PlayStation 5 was developed around a state-of-the-art solid-state storage solution (1TB of capacity was the rumour)"

And based on this leaked Codename about 1,8ghz Navi 10 gpu, I remember last year the chinese site chiphell leaked that Navi 10 would only have 40CU, this site has leaked a lot of correct info before, but I can't find the linked to this to double check. But if accurate we can assume Sony will disable 4CU for improved yields and 36CU clocked at 1,8ghz gives 8,3TF which is a perfect fit for the leak I posted. And this site someone posted on this thread says basically the exact same thing:

https://www.overclock3d.net/news/gpu_displays/radeon_navi_gpu_specifications_leak/1

So maybe PS5 will have an 8core Zen2 clocked at 3,2 ghz, Navi gpu with 36CU clocked at 1,8ghz giving 8,3TF, 12GB gddr6 Vram and 1TB SSD.

And don't bother with the youtubers adoredtv and redgamingtech, I have been follwing those rumors since last year, I'm certain they are false but you u never know I guess.

There's no way Sony is going to allow that kind of discrepancy in power. Just 2 tflops, even if with those tflops you can do more than in Polaris, above Xbox One X would be PR suicide. Especially when the competition is doubling that number. No, I'm pretty sure the two top tier consoles are only going to be 1-1.5 tflops away from each other.

But that's the only way to keep the 500$ budget from overflowing. Why do you think the one X didn't have a permanent pricecut yet? Simply because it's too expensive to produce otherwise. Anybody who's expecting over 10TFlops should also be ready to shell out over 500$, as the hardware will become too expensive otherwise

You can get 4x Zen cores @ 3.3Ghz, 11 CU's for only 35w TDP in the Ryzen 2800H @14nm.

Yeah, but I very much doubt it can hold it's turbo speeds for long, especially when both CPU and GPU are working hard. The GPU in that chip has a higher turbo than the 2400G despite the latter having about twice the TDP budget. At full GPU clock speed, it reaches a theorethical maximum of 1.8TFlops, which is what I based the 2.5-3TFlops on btw.

I have a 15w Ryzen 2700u notebook. 15w.
With both the CPU and GPU pegged the CPU will settle at about 2.5ghz, it's base clock is 2.2Ghz, Turbo 3.8ghz.
GPU will settle at around 1100mhz out of a max of 1300mhz.

Depending on a games load, those clocks will shift a little, but generally, that's how I have seen the clocks fall.

This is at 15w with 10CU, quad-core. 15w.

With over a doubling of TDP... The Ryzen 2800H would fair far far far far better. All comes down to binning! Notebook APU's are binned differently to desktop parts... The 2800H is a high-end notebook APU, not some cheap bargain basement desktop 2400g APU, so it's been binned for that segment with worse performing parts ending up as the 2500u and 2700u.

Surprised we haven't had an Xbox One X slim to be honest... Technically feasible to do it now or in the immediate future.
Probably focused on their next gen efforts perhaps?

Well, as far as I know, the X is already smaller than the S, so I don't think they'll intend to do that anyway.

And I agree that they are probably focusing on the next gen by now.

Ditch the spinning rust... Shrink the SoC down to 7nm, which allows for a reduction in PSU size and complexity and allows for a smaller cooler thanks to lower thermals, reduce the number of DRAM chips... It is certainly feasible.

I didn't say it's not feasible, I just said it's unlikely they will do it. Considering the sales are already slowing down fast, and the next gen coming relatively soon, this would probably waste more money than they could make from it.

Hence why I stated they are probably focused on their next-gen efforts.

Almost everything of the console is already decided about 2 years before release, if Microsoft decided to go for a expensive premium box and Sony for a mainstream console there's really nothing Sony can do about it. We know this from previous leaks where PS4 specs was already leaked summer 2012 in a forum post at beyond3d saying the PS4 will have 8 jaguar cpu cores and 1,8TF and Microsoft revealed the TF number for Xbox one X already 1.5 years in advanced.

Looking at Vega 7 we see 60CU at 330mm2 die size, even if we remove the share of the HBM controllers we looking at 300mm2 for 60CU, remove a third of the CU's we have about 200mm2, now add the 8Core zen2 cpu + gddr6 controllers we looking at 300-350mm2 die size which is perfect for a console.

The leak I posted and the leaked codename Eurogamer is talking about (showing 3,2ghz cpu clock and 1,8ghz navi gpu clock) and estimated die size on 7nm HPC (high performance computing) they all fit perfectly togheter and we have:

An 8core zen2 cpu clocked at 3,2ghz, 36CU clocked at 1,8ghz giving 8,3TF, 12GB gddr6 Vram 336 GB/s memory speed and 1TF SSD, Fall 2020 $400.

Let's see what happens :)
