If the cheaper Switch can still dock, I'd be interested in that.
Now that Joker is out in Smash I should pick one up soon.
Fair enough, but in case you guys said this when Nikkei gave us NX (Switch) info, do you keep in mind the source of the info and their track record for future reference?
Nikkei have a pretty good track record for these things. They revealed when the Gamecube would get discontinued, in spite of Nintendo denying it. Release and details of the 3DS XL, and NX/Switch. And more.
One of the reasons for why they get this info early is because they get info from the manufacturers that design some of the components inside the consoles.
Until they give me a reason to doubt them more than I believe them in situations like this, I'll lean towards believing them.
Even if they have a good track record I am just getting in general tired to read all these rumors. There are so many rumors out their and therefore it is stale to read them.
Well there's a difference between a rumor from an undisclosed source, and a report from a publication with a history of giving us accurate ones.
If it's a pastebin by an annonymous source, I don't trust it at all.
If it's Eurogamer reporting on what the Switch or the PS4 Pro will be like, as they did, then I believe it.
And they will be cautious to avoid putting their name behind reports like this unless they are certain, because that could otherwise tarnish the reputation they've gained in recent times.
As it stands now, if Eurogamer released a 'report' on new PlayStation 5 details, we have a lot of reason to believe them.
Nikkei are in a similar position. This is a report coming from them. Not them relaying a rumor from someone else, but rather information they have internally gathered from their contacts, and deem them trustworthy enough to put their reputation on the line.
I remember when Siliconera 'reported' on Final Fantasy 7 Remake being at E3, that they said they had personally verified, three days before it got revealed, and a number of people on this site didn't believe it because they seemingly didn't understand the distinction between a publication putting their reputation on the line with a report they've verified themselves, and them relaying a rumor from someone else.
As far as I can tell, this is a report from Nikkei themselves.
