I still hate this

I'm with you. If this isn't coupled with at least a P5 port (we'll know by the 25th if it does), it'll really rub me the wrong way, just like Snake's inclusion does.

I'm going to be super disappointed if the rest of the DLC characters are just random choices from other systems that don't have any roots in Nintendo history. Steve and Master Chief are my nightmare.

You know what makes Marth's down air spike feel good?

His Nintendo roots.

Jokes aside, I understand how character association can enhance your enjoyment of a character, but that has nothing to do with which console they were on, and everything to do with the game they're from.

So if someone is lacking that with Joker, the problem is that they haven't played it. Not the name of the console you played it on.

Smash is a celebration of video games, and if someone only plays Nintendo games, that's their prerogative. Though I think they shouldn't let that get in the way of their own enjoyment of a character either. I had never played Fire Emblem when I first tried Marth, and I still loved him. And you should certainly not punish everyone else for a reason like that. People who never played Final Fantasy 7 loved Cloud. And I'm sure the same will apply to Joker, his stage and the music.

Sakurai isn't the one deciding the DLC Nintendo themselves have chosen the characters internally.

I am just a gamer... sitting in front of his switch... waiting for Smash to update...

Where are you little update bar?  Why hast thou forsaken me?

On Nintendo's website, it says there's a scheduled maintenance for Smash ending tonight at 8:30 PM, pacific time. So, no need to mash the update button all day long.

I know...  for shame!

Ye, here is the thing.

This stage is a bit of a classic around here, but it never became too popular elsewhere. It's time to change that! Introducing Spike Land 3.0, the stage where you can only die downwards. The rules are simple: if you get meteor smashed, you must lose an extra stock! Free-for-alls and team battles are recommended, as 1v1's can get boring fast.

I'm... not expecting this to get to many people, to be honest, but hey, here it is.
