Forums - Gaming Discussion - CAPCOM announces their plug n play thingy: Alien Vs Predator, Cyberbots, and multiple versions of Street Fighter 2 included.

That's much too expensive and while the design looks cool it doesn't seem very practical. They should have made it so the right controller comes off. You know, like in Resident Evil 4.

I can buy Snes Classic for £70 and it includes SF 2 Turbo. For that price I would expect every 5th gen arcade fighter they made.

Hmm, pie.

People in this thread are getting confused. This isn't supposed to be going for the "classic" market. This isn't something that's being thrown out in the category of a Playstation Classic or a SNES Classic. This is in the arcade stick market.

Good arcade sticks are notorious for being overpriced. And considering this is basically two of them with a couple of games, it's nowhere near as overpriced as it sounds when you compare it to a Playstation Classic. It's still very overpriced, but that's the market for these things.

I thought the design was pretty ugly honestly. Are the buttons supposed to be barely visible or am I missing something?

I don't think i can import this plug 'n play hardware, thanks to the expensive shipping and handling cost cause by size and weight. I'll just use emulating... Besides the arcade sticks quality is the important question.

Can this be used as an arcade stick for other games though? Because if it can't, it slides more towards the classic market. I would assume it can be used with more than the pre-loaded games, but at a glance it doesn't say it can. Good point tho.

I would assume so but we'll have to see. Mind you though, I'm not defending it. Because that entire market is kind of a rip off in terms of price. At least imo, i'm sure pro players may not feel that way (though the fact that it's two sticks should make it more niche).

That is the design they are going with? Who designed this? And who thought it was a good idea to price it like a PS4?

You know it deserves the GOTY.

No one is going to be using this thing as their Arcade stick for other fighting games, for one thing it might contain good arcade stick components but they're coupled with probably a raspberry pi thing inside there which is going to need to be ripped outta the way really to allow you directly make use of this stick. And you're not going to see anyone pulling out something like this at EVO over any stick in that price range.

Unrelated to your post ALA, the games included on this thing are fairly tragic, I mean it doesn't even have Super Street Fighter 2, just Hyper fighting, so no Cammy, T.Hawk, Deejay or FeiLong, it would almost be better off for someone to buy a Nintendo Switch and get the capcom beat um up bundle and the 50th anniversary SF2 game with that system than buy this thing.

I'm not saying they would? You are not usually if ever going to have a double arcade stick used at Evo.

All I'm saying is that it's an arcade stick. It belongs in that market. It's a novelty product (which are almost always RIP offs) and it's an arcade stick (which good ones are always argued to be RIP offs). That's all I'm saying. That's why it's not sensical to compare the price of it to classic consoles. Even if it has those retro games it belongs in the arcade stick market as a novelty
