from what I understand is that the raw speed will be achieved in tandem with faster some sort of custom I/O boosted by SW

All speculative till spec reveal anyway.

Would love to know your speculation, on how sony is achieving such speed.. PCie 4? New Custom I/o combined with Faster SSD? or Soldered NVMe Storage?

Uhm..... that whole article reads like a marketing fluff piece written by Sony themselves. They're getting really desperate to sell it as something revolutionary when it's a mere simple hardware upgrade. Nothing wrong with a straight upgrade, but I can't take all the marketing bullcrap.

errrrr....... ok.

Info from sony system architect himself.

Demonstration of an 18x improvement in load times.

Like negative much?

And which console or hardware period isn't ever just an upgrade?

Should display 8k, but shown on a 4k

I wonder if Sony will bother with a new controller? I skimmed the article and didn't see any info ( might have missed it though ). I'm mostly happy with the DS4. The overall design and ergonomics are lovely. But I have had issues with durability.

bigger battery and Haptic feed back is a must

Knew BC would only extend to PS4, glad though. Sold my PS4 a week ago until it completely devalued, looking forward to playing what i'll miss soon on better HW.

Probably not. I can think of those kinds of remasters that have happened before even when the new console was backwards compatible at least.

Well I can understand moreso if it was from PS2 games to PS3 because of remastering to HD resolution.  But how much better do we really need from PS4 games upscaling to whatever PS5 will be?

What we need and whether publishers can make a quick buck out of it are unfotunately very different things

Bet Shiken that COD would outsell Battlefield in 2018. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=8749702

By the way, this is at least $499 already, probably more.

That's my one worry.  That they are gonna have a high price point like they did with PS3 after the success of PS2.

lol very true xD

Times like these when next gen is around the corner makes me want to hold off buying every new game that's to come out for this gen still and assume they'll be rereleased for next gen. (ie. The Last of Us 2)
