Attack on Titan S3 Epi Epi 16 was 1 million times more emotional and intense than the season finale of GOT.

Just putting that into perspective.

Wasn't a bad ending though, but does feel empty.

Is that the one that come out this week? If so that was pretty good. Can't wait to see what happens next week.

Insane how many signed.

Thanks, signed. Not like it will do anything but at least HBO and Disney will know D&D are shit.

Since the last episode it has jumped 250,000 sigs. Wonder if it will get to 1.5m or even 2m

You get that this is George's ending, right?

The way they got there has deviated, but this is the ending as GRRM explained it to D&D before even the first season.

Why do I keep having to repeat. The story beats for the most part were good, some great but they fucked the execution and ruined the characters for me in my mind. I hate Arya now, see Jon as a weak fool and Tyrion as a dumb shit because they had so little development, just skipping from beat to beat like robots. About 70 percent of the beats were good aside from the ending paths which I don't believe George will follow. Danys madness would have been AMAZING Had it been done right so would Jon killing her if the romance wasn't fumbled, Arya killing the night king all that shit but they scene cutting, jumping around and time skipping with no hints to it, so much happening off screen and so on plus the cringey ass dialouge toward the end. It could have been sooo good. All the dead ends like Azor ahai and the lord of light for one example.

However no, George will not be following this because the books can't develop this way from the way it diverged in ADWD and everything that was cut in the show. Not exactly anyway, there will for sure be a large divergence and on what does hit the same notes will get there through fairly different paths. I can't imagine him giving the main character such little development either.

The whole battle against the night king made no sense either though. the world's best minds and seasoned warriors got together and couldn't come up with a better strategy other then let us just charge in the dark with their swords on fire?

Even this has a better strategy and apparently it is meant to be comedy lol.

Lots of posts since I came here last...jeez

Anyways, overall I feel like the last two episodes were solid (though there were tons of smaller criticisms) but they stood on a shaky foundation. I feel the flaws with developing Dany's heel turn, power levels and the numerous loose plot threads really held back the impact of what should have been a good finale. I think if they gave things a couple more episodes and focused more on a couple key characters (let Dany's turn breathe more and make Bran less shite) instead of just trying to sprint between story beats, things would have kit a lot harder.

Looking back, there was a lot of great in Game of Thrones, but a lot of issues. Some seasons are a slog and a lot of the plot threads don't tie up as well as you would hope. It is still worth watching in its entirety, but I don't think it has the honor of being one of the "greatest shows of all time" like it could have been.

Episode 6 gave us two of the worst scenes in the entire show's history - the Lords and Ladies of Westeros electing a new King, and the small council meeting. The second one in particular is a huge middle finger to the fans of the plots and politics of King's Landing. Great Hands, ambitious men, masterful war tacticians, cunning Lords, the very best Maesters, great Kings, awful Kings, wise counselors and fierce warriors, all sat in this council and served the realm (and their personal interests) to the best of their ability. The council was presided by Jon Arryn, Eddard Stark, (smart) Tyrion Lannister, Tywin Lannister and Mace Tyrell.
This is the same council where Ned Stark confronted King Robert about his desire of infanticide, the same council where Tywin's own presence would cast a shadow over this counselors, where the Lannisters and the Tyrells would wrestle for power, and where we learned Tywin had a hand in The Red Wedding. During the show's tenure, the council's members included Olenna Tyrell, Littlefinger, Grand Maester Pycelle, Lord Varys, Oberyn Martell, Kevan Lannister, Jaime Lannister, Renly Baratheon, Stannis Baratheon, Barristan Selmy, Qyburn. A lot of selfish, imperfect characters with hidden intentions, but some of the smartest, most prepared people in the Seven Kingdoms. This council was no joke. It held the kingdom together.
The final council meeting was reduced to a comedy sketch and a parody. Littlefinger enriched himself while giving the illusion of a growing, prosperous kingdom and kept his facade. He was a replaced by a thief given illegitimate lands who needed to be explained how borrowing works. Maester Pycelle spent decades in the citadel acquiring knowledge and experience. Sam lacks all of those. And who appointed him anyway? The maesters are an independent, separate order. Not to mention he should still be part of the Night's Watch. He broke his oath. Speaking of breaking oaths, Brienne sworn her life to protect Sansa, yet here she is, the moral compass of the show, completely unmoved by her broken promise. Tyrion might have been the worst Hand in the show's history, leading to huge tactical and military losses, and being partially responsible for the leveling of King's Landing. Somehow, it was a good idea to name him Hand.
Worst of all, Bran approved all of this awful, out of character decisions and appointments. The Kingdom does not have a bright future if these are to be the rulers. This scene was fanservice, and an awfully executed one at that. This council should represent everything Game of Thrones is, and it was made a huge disservice. It is especially disheartening that THIS is the final scene with dialogue in the show. The place where some of the best writing occurred ends with brothel jokes.

You miss the point the small council under him has to do nothing at all he just visions everything and they just need to react, easiest job in westeros

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

What do u mean it doesnt make sense. Her craziness has been developing for many years.

What kept her sane have been her advisors and closest friend  missandei.

When she realised her advisors back stabbed her and missandei got executed in front of her she lost it. Not only that she found out that jon is the true heir of the throne. He then went behind her decision and told alot of people. Shes wants the throne badly and that makes things worse for her.

To top it off jon claims he loves her but cant love her. Losing him was the final straw.  For her she felt she losing all suppport snd the only way to do it is through fear. Using fear to control people does happen in the real world

Jon killing danny also made sense. Jon is man of morals and ethics. He waz torn between his loyalty to his queen but he also cant justify what she did at kings landing. Therefore he couldnt decide.hence why he asked her to mercy tyrion. That was his way of makin a deciison and wgen she failed to do it he had no choice but to do it. Was he happy ? Nope but it had to be done..

How would u wanted to have the ending?

Bran is the perfect tnrone. He doesnt want it but he has no choice. He can father kids so less likely of breeding tyrants like joffery.  Jon got what he wanted at the end as he never wanted to rule and dannh didnt desere the throne

Am curious on your views on it

Why do you hate it? Is it because u didnt get ending u want?

For me it was the perfect ending. It ties up all the story nicely. It made sense why john killed danny. After john never wanted to be king and he got his wish. Bran is the perfect king as he can see in advance as to whars going to happen.

It isn't the story beats, they are all good it is the path they get there, it rarely makes sense and here they blatently used Tyrion to explain away Danys madness with a subtle retcon. I'm not even going to go into all the crap that made no sense in this episode when you plop it on top of the over all story preogressing to this point cause it's six AM and I'm still so angry I can not sleep. If you think this is good, good for you but you clearly havn't thought much about the story or characters outside of watching the TV show and enjoyibg it episode by episode. I'm happy for ya and all the other like you cause you don't have to now try and burn this pile of garbage out of your memory and repair the book story lines, if it is even possible.

They did say they will use the counc to vote thr new king every time. Which was similar to sams idea of democracy.

Plus bran can see things in advance which no king can do. That alone can be advantegous to the westoros. He can see if people around him are telling the truth.  That alone is huge. No king could do that.

Ps hes on the wheelchair. Hes paralyzed below the waist so thats a dead giveaway he cant have kids hahah

The funniest part to me is that the solution to the series was putting an uninterested king on the throne with an unclear line of succession.

Anyone remember what caused the chaos of the first 4 seasons? Oh yeah, it was an uninterested king who died without a clear line of succession.

Also, Sansa's really got to learn to keep her mouth shut. Leaking intelligence that Jon's the true heir is one thing. Telling every Lord and Lady left in Westeros that Bran's penis doesn't work is just kinda cruel. For that matter, how the heck does she know?

And could you please try to leave your personal feelings out the discussion? You loved the sh..  thing.  We get it.  Nobody is asking to stop loving it.

My personal feelings? Coming from someone who feels so betrayed by a television show they want people to lose their jobs over it. This is nothing but your self-entitlemend.

Nobody is asking you to like the show. Just accept this was the ending of Game of Thrones. Many liked it, you and bunch of others didn't, get over it.

This guy lmao This guy has been shredding Game of Thrones for the past three episodes and he works in HBO lmao
