Nudity continues to melt down American eyes I see. Was that the secret used by the Viet Cong? Someone should tell the Iranians, but then, they literally blur woman's faces in television because that's too much for them already.

Edit - not meaning to derail the thread but you and Dulfite sound as out of place to most people here as some Iranian asking if VidAngel can censor female faces.

Probably shouldn't judge people without knowing their reasons for disliking something.

My wife is the one who doesn't like nudity and it's because when she was growing up her step-dad was a fucking creep and would watch porn in the living room in the middle of the day when her and her siblings were home and now she gets extremely uncomfortable whenever she sees nudity or sex scenes on TV.

She enjoys other movies/shows with a medieval/fantasy style setting so I think she would like GoT but wont give it a shot because of that.

Tell her about VidAngel then! I refused to watch GoT because of that reason, then I read about Vidangel. They get sued all the time, but over the last year or two I've watched the entire GoT show and had the ability to filter out whatever I wanted (you can get really conservative if you want, or just cut certain things out). Having watched the show now, there are some things I would have filtered even more in retrospect. For instance, I would really not like to have seen the Mountain crushing that one dudes skull by pushing his finger through the guy's eyes. I would also like to have not seen ANY of the scenes involving that creepy guy who mutilated what's his name's manhood (I'm really trying not to think about it cause that was just so gross and terrifying). Anyway, it's well worth the monthly charge in my book!

I was really disappointed even though my expectations were pretty low following the previous season. It felt like an unnecessary episode, nothing important happened and they wasted time on some things. That Daenarys/Jon lovey scene was cringey and the dialogues became too simplistic. Well, I'm gonna watch till the end anyways, hopefully it improves.

I can't disagree more with this. I was also disappointed in last season but felt this episode redeemed things quite a bit. I appreciated that the episode focused on the characters and their reunions and interactions, and I feel they were all important to the development of each. To me that goes back to the basics of GoT. The way that they used Sam's anger with Daenarys into his telling Jon about his true heritage was a good way to plant the seed of how Jon/Daenarys may end up going awry. I feel like I know more about Euron from this one episode than I did in all of season 7 combined. The episode clearly mirrored S1E1 and I'm fine with that.

I do agree about the Daenarys/Jon scene though, plus I thought the CGI was noticeably off in that scene as well.

Season 7 completely killed my interest in the series. I will still watch the final season after it's finished.

How did Season 7 completely kill your interest in the series?  I can see someone saying the quality of the storytelling went down hill as they get further way from the books and try to rush to finish, but completely killed seems a bit extreme.  Still the best show ever made and the first 3 books are some of the best books I've read.  Still remember reading the red wedding some 8 years ago, and putting the book down so upset that I had to go on a 10 mile jog before I could read on.

I understand where you're coming from, and the episode did have some redeeming moments, like you mentioned, Sam's bits were some of the best. I just think that the urge to deal with these reunions made everything feel forced, it lacked fluency. They went on a path to make things simplistic, like Cersei's concern with elephants, it's understandable but they kind of made it into a joke. I'm not trying to be overly critical, but honestly I just didn't enjoy it. There was so much more wit before. We'll see what happens, I just hope they don't ruin it.

Always found it very akward to watch those nude scenes because i watch this show with my family and this first episode nude scene had me wishing i could skip it . :p

Edit: Would also want to say that Gwendoline Christie(Brienne) is such an amazing actress and she has such an awesome personality.

Totally crushing on her :p

Episode 2 was really good and emotional. The battle is right around the corner and you can feel a sense of dread from the characters. This was the last episode all these characters will be alive together.

I didn't want to see Arya that way. :(

Very shitty episode. Bad fanfic.

Cool episode.

A think a lot of the "dark Dany" or "mad queen" theorists out there need to remember her birthright is going to be challenged much earlier in the books by the fake Aegon, and yet she'll fall in love with Jon after that (as per her visions in the house of the undying). So no, this character arc isn't going anywhere near making her a villain, specially given Cersei is still a thing.

I wonder how they'll handle the dragon? If the Night King is partly a stand-in for book Euron, we can assume it will be as hard as killing a normal dragon (so, no dragonglass / fire magic bullet), since in the books one can assume he'll take one of the living dragons using the Dragonbinder instead of that Viseryon plot.

Loved the episode, can’t wait for the third one.
