I don't understand people being upset with something like this, it's not like they have to buy a whole new PC to play the game like console gamers do with console exclusive games... all they've got to do is download a FREE launcher to be able to buy and play their game. It's a complete non-issue for me, lol.

Thanks Bristow, knowing that you don't have an issue with it, and also don't understand how people could, I have now completely changed my opinion on the matter and am now absolutely ok with it. After all, if it meets the Bristow standard, it shouldn't fail to meet anyone else's.

Can't say I understand the reasoning behind this post, seems like you're just here to mock my opinion on the matter, which I must say I don't appreciate.

What's hard to understand? Your comment came off like you are saying that other people should have the same standards as you, that you can't fathom why people are upset and that it's a non-issue for you so it shouldn't be for others. Maybe that wasn't your intention but that's how it sounded.

There is no way you can logically conclude that the reply was meant to make fun of your opinion on the matter. It was meant to make light of the way you wrote your comment. I basically spelled it out for you in the last sentence.

First of all if that's how you read my post that's your problem, and secondly I CAN come to the conclusion that you were mocking me based on how condescending you were, and are, trying to be.

Okay, then anyway someone interprets anything is their problem. Because it always requires some form of interpretation when you read a comment. That's probably not the best excuse to use as a moderator.

When you write "I don't understand people being upset with something like this", and then say "all they've got to do is download a FREE launcher", and then say "It's a complete non-issue for me, lol", the effect of this combination is that you are saying you can't see how people are upset, and that people shouldn't be upset, based on your standards. You're even minimizing the problem for other people (not just yourself) in the extended version of the second quote. Any one of those comments by themselves wouldn't be an issue, but it is the combination of them that makes it sound like you are saying everyone should have your standards.

I'm not trying to be "condescending", when you have to explain a joke or the point of a joke, it's always going to sound condescending ... because the joke was supposed to be obvious enough so that it didn't need an explanation in the first place!

You are taking it as a great offense and even played the victim in your first reply. You shouldn't take it as such. I didn't read that much into your comment, just as I did not mean much by my reply. All it was meant to signal is that you should have the self-awareness to see that other people have their own standards and that you should try to be a little bit more reasonable in seeing them. Just as I can understand how people don't have a problem with the Epic store from a personal standpoint (unless they are making a pro-consumer argument for it, then given that it's an argument obviously I'm going to counter it).

I think the fuss is mostly just bitter “PC master race” enthusiasts that are upset about this avenue of console gaming coming to PC, just like they were when DLC started its transformation.

The guy in the video is right though. You’re launching a new service, this is the only way you’re going to make any headway. Very similar to when Sony launched the PSone and started offering publishers less royalty fees and moneyhatting games. Otherwise you’re just going to have another generic store front nobody uses while Valve remains complacent with Steam.

I am having a good laugh seeing pc gamers lose their fucking minds over this " first world problem ".

Dude in the video is right, i will never understand the steam cult and gabe newell cult. Stop bitching , spend 2 minutes making a epic acount or dont and shut the fuck up and miss those titles. Epic have every right to do this and devs to make the games exclusive cause the epic store gives them more profit in every sale.

are you sure you aren't attacking pc gamers out of jealousy of our higher frame rates and resolutions?

i can hook up a monitor to my pc which runs at 120 frames and 4k why shouldn't i expect then that borderlands 3 come to steam?

I dont know if you are being sarcastic or seriously, i dont know anymore on vgxhartz

I agree completely.Epic plan seems to be working and honestly, its the first competitor to actually stand a chance against Valve.Epic will hopefully make Valve stop sitting in its ass and improve their services.Or to be more specific, go back to developing great games.

You really think this is gonna make them make games again? If anything its gonna do the opposite.

How so?Losing customers(money) will make them more likely to keep doing nothing?Or rather, just offering more and more services, when Epic has been gaining grounds clearly due to games?(their own or otherwise)

Not saying that this will definely make them go back to developing games, but it sure increase the chances.
