Jordan was 35 when he retired the 2nd time. 95% of the players lucky to be playing at that age. Jordan had already won 3 championships with the team that drafted him when he 1st retired he didnt have anything else to prove unlike Lebron leaving his team because he knew he couldnt win.  Again jordan didnt need the best rebounder, the best 6th man to win his 1st 3 peat. Jordan haters always making shit up im done with you

I made nothing up.  My previous post actually took a bit of research to make sure I was remembering correctly.  Ultimately, Jordan didn't retire because he had nothing to prove.  He retired both times because he couldn't be Michael Jordan anymore.  Compare that to Bird who played in pain for years before being dragged off the court, or Lebron at the same age looking for new challenges and ways to expand his game, or Kareem just going to work, making those skyhooks and winning championships same as always, into his 40s.

And, again the Bulls did very well the year Jordan was gone.  It was never just Jordan.  They were a talented, well-coached team that could compete for a championship without him.  Maybe they didn't win when the best player on the planet left right before the season, but they could play ball.

He won 3 straight championship. Nba greats magic, Isaiah already said he was the greatest ever after the 1st 3 peat so he had nothing to prove. Then his father was murdered so maybe that pushed him over the edge to take a break. The bulls did well because they added a few decent players and they were well coached and highly motivated. The year after they were an average team because they werent as motivated and didnt have as much luck. Maybe they realized they couldnt win without jordan i dont know. And again you were making shit up by saying jordan needed the best rebounder, the best 6th man to win championship. As for phil being the best coach, he had jordan and pippen. Most coaches would win championship with a prime jordan and pippen. Lebron Not only left to join with wade and bosh because he couldnt win, he also destroyed team by demanding to trade half the team multiple times. Jordan never thrown his team under the bus

I was refuting your comment that all he needed was a second all-star and the championships start flowing.  The Bulls, both versions, were more than just two players.  You're the one guilty of an exaggeration, not me.

Also you don't seem to have an idea how hard Jordan was on his teammates.  Or coaches for that matter.  Ask Doug Collins how easy Jordan was to coach.

Speaking of coaches.  Jackson got Jordan to change his game and was the only coach other than Dean Smith that Jordan would play for.  He got a moody Pippen to keep his ego in check from Jordan's shadow.  He kept Rodman from being a complete distraction that derails the whole team (seriously, how many coaches accomplish that?).  He implemented the triangle offense which made Jordan's game a team game.  Oh, and he took a talented but chaotic Lakers team that was about to fall on its face to the championship as soon as he walked through the door.

No you were the one making shit up. Jordan only needed pippen to become great to win championship. Yes they also had paxson the best 3 pt shooter but they didnt have the best rebounder and 6th man. Jordan didnt need multiple all stars to win championship and thats why its easier to build around jordan if you want to win championship. Jordan was hard on his teammates he expected perfection. He wanted the best out of them not throwing them under the bus because they werent good. Phil was just lucky he never built a bottom team to win championship. He had prime jordan and pippen when he took over collins and when he arrived at lakers they were already making conference finals and was loaded with a prime shaq who was the most dominant player ever. The lakers coach he took over wasnt a good coach because i dont think he ever coached again

Back in the present, Durant helps the Warriors off to a strong start but is out again in the early second. Raptors are down 6, the Warriors need to hang on to extend their chance at a championship.

Dude, I would just give up.  Anyone who blows off Phil freaking Jackson - a coach with a W/L of .704, 13 Finals Appearances,  11 championships, and never, ever led a team to a sub-.500 season - as being just another coach who got lucky is beyond help.

Not lucky as in winning. He was lucky to take over teams that were on their way up. He took over a bulls team with prime jordan and pippen that made the conference finals with collins. Same with the lakers.

The refs in these finals have been mostly garbage tbh. Really disappointing how consistently bad they are.

Honestly, whoever picks the Refs for the Finals should be banned from making any mid to high level decisions in any sports organization in any sport anywhere.  In the world.  Cause every year we have at least a few games of this nonsense.

The point was that the Bulls weren't just a two-man team.  I think their performance after Jordan left is sufficient evidence that I'm not just making it up.

Jordan was more than hard on his teammates.  Without a good coach to keep things in balance, that team falls apart from Jordan's antics as well.

The Lakers were imploding before Jackson got there.  The team chemistry was awful and Kobe and Shaq weren't playing together.  Jackson walked through the door and changed that.  Also, Del Harris is a pretty good coach.

Look, it seems more and more obvious that you're not inclined to look at Jordan clearly and realize he had faults and a lot of luck to get him the stat lines you keep repeating.  You've resorted several times to outright namecalling and you've taken over the thread by not simply respecting my comments that I prefer the other players over Jordan.  You've threatened to rage quit several times.  By all means, do so for real.

Yeah i should just stop. i didnt rage or namecalling. Theres no point having a discussion with someone who lie or just giving false information. Jordan didnt need the best rebounder or 6th man to win championship . If you saw his first 3 peat you would know. Laters

Well, it was a real nail biter, but the Warriors manage to stay alive (at least for now) and force a Game 6 back at Oracle.
