Forums - Sports Discussion - 2019 NBA Postseason: The Toronto Raptors are NBA Champions!

A Grade 2 Calf Strain takes around 4-6 weeks to fully recover and it hasn't even been 3 weeks since he suffered the injury in Game 5 against the Rockets, so he's gonna be out the 1st two games of the Finals for sure.

That 4 week mark would be next Wednesday, which is Game 3. The best the Warriors can hope for is that he'll be back for that game and play the rest of the series, but even that's unlikely. If he does come back, I think it would be around Game 4 or 5 and even if he does return, he's not gonna be the same Kevin Durant who was dominating the playoffs before the injury. He's gonna be rusty and it'll take him a bit of time to find his rhythm - time the Warriors don't have.

Game 1 is just one hour away.
While I think the Warriors are winning the championship, I’m picking the Raptors to win Game 1 tonight.

This is going to be a good series.

Warriors playing very sloppy so far. Refs also letting a lot of contact on Curry slide. Gonna be an interesting second half.

Pascal Siakam just became the front runner for Finals MVP.

GO RAPTORS!!!

Seems like just about everything went the Raptors' way in that game. Offensively, they'll probably never again be as good as they were in that second half. Even the crazy shots lucked in for them. Defensively they played excellent as well, but GS also overpassed a lot of time, and outside of Curry getting to the line they didn't find much in the way of consistent production.

Well well, the Raptors showed up to play. If they can be consisten,t, this series could actually be interesting.

The Warriors will adjust and play better, obviously. So the Raptors will have to adjust back. If they can win game 2, that puts them in a very strong position.

If the Warriors DO manage to loe this, I'll kind of feel sorry for Curry. This was his year to finally get at least one Finals MVP to go with his unanimous Consolation Prize MVP, it would be pretty depressing if he manages to miss out again :P

The only lower seed that is a lock to make it out of the first round is the Thunder. I come back and make further predictions once the second round starts.

Even if I had read that statement before the game, my first thought would have been: "Lol"

Anyway, I've been meaning to hunt you down and ask if you'd like to place a bet on the MVP winner and for what stakes. You think Harden will get it, I used to think Giannis might, now I think he will. What do you say?

You never replied to my challenge... I think you know who da real MVP is...

You still have time to put your money where your mouth is, sir.

Warriors talking about all this confidence they have, but they're out here looking like they want no parts of Toronto. Pretty pathetic tbh. On loose balls too, just not seeing the energy from them that a Finals series demands. Not sure how much longer I can be asked to watch this.
