It's that time of year once again if you're an NBA fan. It''s time for the postseason once more! 82 games have come and gone and we've had many storylines along the way. LeBron's first season in the Western Conference with the Lakers... And also the first season where he doesn't make the playoffs since the '04-'05 season. And this is after he had made the NBA Finals from the Eastern Conference for 8 straight years. Also, Dwyane Wade and Dirk Nowitzki's final seasons. Both of them are First Ballot Hall of Famers, in my view. The Milwaukee Bucks emerged as the Eastern Conference's new powerhouse with the Greek Freek, Giannis Antetokounmpo, possibly this year's MVP. It's down to him and James Harden, but Antetokounmpo gets my vote. Magic Johnson resigned as the Lakers' president as that shitshow continues onward. And cracks have started to form in the Warriors' dynasty with rumors of Kevin Durant being on his way out after this season and that could have a potentially big effect on their quest to 3-peat. Yeah there's been no shortage of drama and storylines this year with the NBA. Now we've reached the point that the remaining 16 teams have been building towards. With that said, let's not waste any time and look at the matchups:

Eastern Conference:

1st Round:

#1 Milwaukee Bucks (60-22), 3 vs. #8 Detroit Pistons (41-41), 0; Bucks lead 3-0
#4 Boston Celtics (49-33), 4 vs. #5 Indiana Pacers (48-34), 0; Celtics win series 4-0
#2 Toronto Raptors (58-24), 3 vs. #7 Orlando Magic (42-40), 1; Raptors lead 3-1
#3 Philadelphia 76ers (51-31), 3 vs. #6 Brooklyn Nets (42-40), 1; 76ers lead 3-1

Western Conference:

1st Round:

#1 Golden State Warriors (57-25), 3 vs. #8 Los Angeles Clippers (48-34), 1; Warriors lead 3-1
#4 Houston Rockets (53-29), 3 vs. #5 Utah Jazz (50-32), 0; Rockets lead 3-0
#2 Denver Nuggets (54-28), 2 vs. #7 San Antonio Spurs (48-34), 2; Series tied 2-2
#3 Portland Trail Blazers (53-29), 3 vs. #6 Oklahoma City Thunder (49-33), 1; Trail Blazers lead 3-1

So, will the Warriors be the first team to 3-peat as champions since the LA Lakers from 2000-2002? Or will their dynasty come to end with a new champion crowned? Unless the Jazz pull off an upset, it looks like we're headed towards a Conference Finals rematch in the 2nd round between them and the Rockets. Maybe this year will finally be the Rockets' year? Or maybe it'll be a new team that's crowned like the Bucks? Or maybe Kawhi Leonard was just what the Raptors needed to get them over the hump? Only time will tell.

I'm rooting for the Nets but Golden State will probably take it again.

Well, the first game of the playoffs has come and gone and we've already got an upset!
The 6th seed Brooklyn Nets steal Game 1, and with it, home court advantage, in convincing fashion from the 3rd seed Philadelphia 76ers. Now Philly is gonna have to respond by taking Game 2 and one of the two games in Brooklyn if they want to regain home court.

Now, onto the Magic and Raptors!

The only lower seed that is a lock to make it out of the first round is the Thunder. I come back and make further predictions once the second round starts.

Got ourselves a good one in Toronto!

Two games, two upsets.
The 7th Seed Magic managed to hang on and steal home court advantage from the 2nd Seed Raptors.

The Eastern Conference side of the playoffs is up to an interesting start.
Now we turn our attention to the Western Conference.
Clippers-Warriors, and then Spurs-Nuggets.

The Warriors' biggest enemy in their quest to 3-peat is themselves. After going to the NBA Finals 4 straight years and and winning 3 of them, including the last 2, is that same hunger, desire, urgency, and will to win still there? Are they still hungry? Do they still want it? Or do they not care as much as they used to because after 3 championships (2 for Kevin Durant) they've already gotten their fill?
