By how much was the PS4 discounted in the weeks before?

I believe it was 5000 yen so 45 USD (40€)

Thanks, so a 5000 Yen pricecut would allow the PS4 to sell around 20k consoles for a while, while at the current price it's closer to 10k.

Chris1964 (the guy who posts Japan sales on Era and has alot of retail insight) says that a price cut wont do much without software to back it up so with the Spring/Summer lineup being poor the weekly increase would be minimal.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

Hardware is down for both Switch and PS4. Is this normal for early April?

Props to Sekiro for having a good hold. I am used to seeing PS4 titles have a strong first week and then falling off the charts. Wouldn't be surprised if it charts next week too.

Yeah it's pretty common.

Made some work on the chart and some tables have been redone.

This week marks the slowest for both console and the baseline seems to have swapped (percentage speaking)

Amazing how Zelda increased from last week and returned to the top 10 The power that that has is just too much.

So, then probably just to 15k, or a 3-5k boost. That's pretty weak, I was expecting a bit more tbh.

Yowch, those hardware numbers are pretty grim.

Switch sales are soft, but PS4 is straight up floundering.

Less than last year at least. Switch is 6K over last year on the same week.

Yeah, very true. I guess after the last few months it's just weird to see Switch under 50k and PS4 under 15k, even if it makes sense.
