It did for me because E3 is normally the best time to announce new hardware.

Eh, I dunno. Things have changed. Sony and Microsoft really don't do that at E3 anymore, and the 2DS XL wasn't announced at E3, heck neither was the Switch. It makes sense to shadow drop a trailer so nobody is anticipating it which leads to them not buying a Switch until a revision is announced. 

There's a new revision coming this year, Nintendo always plays coy regarding revisions. I think the days of E3 being a showcase for hardware are gone.

CONFIRMED! 11th of June. The leak is PROVEN right!

Also, the May part from the leak (which is the month after April) ALSO PROVEN true, May 15 there is a Mario Maker Direct.
