Nintendo has already made a presence in the last few months.
- January had the Nindies Highlights video from Europe and a Feh (Fire Emblem Heroes) Channel Presentation
- Not to the mention the various tweets on release dates for games such as Yoshi's Crafted World and the unfortunate delay of Metroid Prime 4
- A Nintendo Direct happened on Feb. 13 and a Pokemon Direct happened on Feb. 27
- A Nindies Showcase on March 20
- Another Feh Channel Presentation on April 4

I know there is more information that needs to be shown for the upcoming games. I know people are dying to know more about Animal Crossing, Luigi's Mansion 3, Astral Chain, Super Mario Maker 2, Pokemon Sword and Shield, among other games, including ones we do not know about yet. For now, we should be patient and not dwell too much on an upcoming direct that may or may not happen this week or next week or later this month.

When is the next Nintendo Direct? When Nintendo is ready to present one under their terms, not ours. Nintendo is not obligated to present information at a certain date (i.e., near Reggie's last day or something). I do not believe they operate like that. We will know more about Joker and Smash 3.0.0 when they're ready to show more, among other things.

This was kind of intense? All this thread was for was discussing a hypothetical. It's not the end of the world that the direct is probably not happening. It's just fun to talk about and speculate, even if it is based on utter nonsense. Some of my favorite times on this forum were discussing the most absurd NX rumors back in the day, and before that Project Cafe.

The reporters I hate the most are those that say "I like this list, so I think this Direct might be real" -- There's no logic to that statement.

The other thing I shake my head at is that people actually dignify blatant lies by incorrectly labelling them as rumours. It's not a rumour if the source is identified, it's either the truth or a lie.

Hmm...is there a thread or a database to highlight when publications, posters, and users falsely predict something? Would be great to see a simple breakdown of the track record of supposed informed sources.

All I'm saying is if a Direct happens, then great. If it doesn't, ok it doesn't. We shouldn't expect something to happen just because of one thing or another. Like, do not expect a Direct near Reggie's retirement just because we believe it would be a great way to send him off. Nintendo does not work that way. Patterns and speculations can only do so much, especially when we are talking about a company that does things their own way.

If you want to speculate and predict, that's fine. Just be sure to keep expectations for a direct low. I keep reading comments on social media and other forums and a few expect and predict a direct like almost every week. Just calm down and just let a direct happen when Nintendo is ready to present one.

Apparently the rumour was for this week, the 18th. BUT... BUT... the translation is a little fuzzy and closer sources say April 25... which makes more sense due to 25, but so does May 1st, so probably then. But the 18th until further notice is what the rumour of the 11th actually meant.

They always have plenty of directs but one is expected because of Joker in Smash. Also May could have a Pokemon one.

I believe whatever pokemon news there may come it will be at E3.

I don't think there's gonna be a direct before E3, seems way too early after the last one and too close to E3 for them to do it. On the bright side, the E3 presentation will be jam packed, which is great! I'd love to be wrong about not having a direct this month though.
