Video game songs, singing or vocalized music, is nothing new. Metal Gear Solid, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, and Sonic the Hedgehog are some of the franchises that have had numerous, memorable songs over the years. Heck, Nintendo, known for their iconic gaming music, had a few songs of their own, such as the DK Rap, songs from K.K. Slider (if you want to count Animal Crossing characters speaking gibberish as vocals), Fire Emblem's Main Theme in Brawl, and the various songs from other media (i.e., the Super Mario Bros. Super Show opening, the Pokemon anime, Kirby's anime, the DKC cartoon..., etc.).

However, for the past several years (2013-present), Nintendo appears to utilize more music with vocals in their big games, whether it be a main theme or one of the tracks in the OST. Of course, that could be due to Nintendo attempting to adapt with the times in video game development (insert Nintendo and "adapting to the times" joke here, if you want). Nevertheless, some of them have struck a cord (no pun intended) with fans. Here are some of the more recent tracks.

What are some of your favorite Nintendo songs in recent years, whether it be from the songs here or other songs from the noted or other Nintendo games?

Jump Up Super Star followed by Lifelight

A Moment of Eternity from Torna. Phenomenal ending theme. One Last You is a close second followed by Jump Up Superstar. Not even sure Drifting Soul makes my top 5.

Lifelight is just ruined with those vocals, the non-vocal version is infinitely better.

My vote goes to Jump up Superstar.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

I'm not one to like video game vocal tracks but Jump Up Super Star was just really damn catchy.

Drifting Soul is pretty good too. RIP Vandham.

Jump up superstar is just so damn charming and fun to listen to. I'll be honest I was annoyed with it initially, but the more Nintendo played the song, the more I loved it.

I would be remiss if I didn't include some other themes from other notable Nintendo games.

Reincarnation - Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iON8LyXYmBc

Uncontrollable - Xenoblade Chronicles X

I usually read that people became more tired of Jump Up, Super Star! than the vice versa. Kinda interesting. It's among my favorites, but I am ok in not hearing every once in a while.

Jump Up, Superstar! is pretty much my favorite song of all time.

But I'll mention some others besides the ones listed in the OP. I also adore Lost in Thoughts All Alone from Fates.

Splatoon 2's Tidal Rush gets to me everytime, is so beautiful, the orchestration plus the great performance of Marie's strong voice with Callie's more distressful tone just mesh so perfectly for the moment in the battle.

Baten Kaitos Origins' Le Ali Del Principio, a calm yet intense tune that plays near the end of the amazing journey that is Origins @Super_Boom . It also gives me extra feels that is kind of a family tune, Motoi Sakuraba composed the overall melody, lyrics written by his wife and their 9 year old daughter sang the lyrics.

Style Savvy: Styling Star, my favorites being the opening theme "Girls be ambitious" and "Maria", as a whole the game has a good amount of lyrical tracks due to the nature of the storyline with the idols.

And for a game that I like too much despite its flaws, Xenoblade Chronicles X, absolute killer OST, god bless Hiroyuki Sawano.

Forgot to mention Wario, the Ware franchise has some really catchy tunes like Tomorrow Hill

And the best anime opening in the Jap version of Master of Disguise.
