My understanding is the debt doesn't even show the true size of the issue either. I thought it didn't even include unfunded future expected liabilities (like that social security is technically underfunded etc).

It is only the federal government debt. The total debt of US, which includes all liabilities is over 70 trillion dollars.

In 2000 US Debt/GDP ratio was 50%, now it's 106%. If the debt had increased on par with the economy in the past 19 years, today the ratio should still be 50%.

I see.

Interesting.

Then the US is in trouble...

Since the US Dollar the the world currency, the US could even go to about 300% debt with impunity. But if the Dollar would ever loose it's status as main world exchange currency, then the US would be in trouble.

So what do people think if the Senate were to hold a secret vote to indict the President, what would be the chances it would get 2/3rd votes. There is a slim window that this could happen but I believe if the Senate would hold such a vote, the President would be in real trouble. It would be funny if they did such a thing and get 100% of the votes.

67 is pretty intense. That would require TWENTY republicans to get on board. Actually probably more since I think a couple dems still wouldn't go for it.

I'd be more afraid if they DID get on board. That would mean they had plans to have pence win.

And you know what? I think Pence could win. He gets all the "good" from the bad thing trump has done, and none of the bad. Plus he is an actual Christian instead of a fake one like Trump - so he gets that vote hardcore.

I could easily see Pence telling Trump to go ahead and do any and all things that would get him removed from office so that an outcome like we have it today would occur.  I would also believe that Pence is the anonymous guy from the oped and book that just came out as well.

Judge Napolitano is not Fox and Friends political analysis they are looking for. Why do they continue to have him on the show when he is not going to toe the line with the shows host. Hell if anything from his interview with with Cavuto, he is pouring a lot of cold water on their spin of the hearings.

So Trump lost his battle to his tax returns in New York and also in his appeals case. I am wondering how long before we start to see these tax reports made public. I personally really did not care that much to see them as I am pretty sure it will show that Trump is in a lot of debt and of course does not have the fortune he has claimed for years but since he has put up such a fuss over them, it should be interesting to see if they actually contain anything positive. Either way it should be interesting to see what he was hiding so much or was it all a dude.

And Roger stone is found guilty on all seven charges. 5 for lying, one for intimidation, and one for obstructing.
Add it to the ever growing list of Trump allies getting locked up.

Seems easier to create a second post instead of editing it.
What is up with Elise Stefanik?

Absolutely unknown to me, never heard of her. Never heard of her opponent.
She them absolutely embarrasses herself with that pathetic stunt, and now her opponent is blowing up.

"We raised over $100k in just under 6 hrs". She raised 6 figures because of this.
Why was Elise so eager to give her opponent such a win? Was she already going to lose?
