No intelligent, logical, or rational person would be defending 45's actions, rhetoric, etc. especially in this hurricane incident. It's really more telling of the people defending him than it is for the 45th because we've always known he's been working with two brain cells since before he took office.

Unless those actions or rhetoric are being misrepresented in some way at which point, I can envision an intelligent, logical, rational person raising an objection.

"That tropical storm force winds.  Not hurricane. It's not a trajectory or path map."

>Looks like you can discern a trajectory looking at it.

"That wind speed map was 2 days old when he made his statements.  You don;t use 2 day old data on a damn hurricane forecast."

>What statements in particular? I'm not sure weather findings get to Trump instantaneously. There might be some delay between reports being put together and them reaching the president.

"Finally, he said 95% chance.  This shows at best a 20-30% chance of TROPICAL STORM winds.  Not hurricane."

>When Trump used the 95% figure, sounds like he was referring to the hurricane heading a certain path, not wind speed probability.

"This is the original path that we thought. And everybody thought that this was about a 95% probability and it turned out to be not that bad. It turned out to be a path going up the coast."

Unless you're referring to another instance Trump used a 95% figure.

Businessman, President, and Weatherman. What can't this guy do? Admit mistakes, etc? Seems like he's not the only one...

I'd like to think he's admitted to error in the past, not that I would know. I don't follow the president's every move.

Nope. Wrong again.

He has, and it tends to be when it's beyond blatantly obvious and in a situation where it will do him little to no harm, which doesn't happen all that often. The rest of the time when it's said by some that he should admit fault, it's typically unclear, or they're just repeating what the media said, or they're reading him from a completely different viewpoint, like in this situation.

It's also said that Trump has got both some lefty and righty in him, which I wouldn't disagree, so not admitting to mistakes shouldn't be that much of a surprise when that side of him shows through. A trait that seems to be much more common from that political viewpoint.

Anybody admit to you they were wrong recently when it seems they were? Anybody who happened to think Trump should admit his faults or mistakes, etc?

What I think is funniest about this entire thing, is just how big of a deal people are making about something so...silly.

Who honestly goes to the president to get their hurricane (or any weather forecast for that matter) information?

It's like people just want to find the dumbest things possible and try turning them into these GIANT ordeals.

Regarding those maps, as somebody who follows weather extremely closely (very interested in hurricanes, used to chase tornadoes, etc), the tropical storm winds percentage map is actually the only wind percentage map officially and consistently released by NHC. They do not issue a Hurricane force wind percentage map.

These tropical storm maps also tend to follow the hurricane cone extremely close.

There were also several model runs that absolutely showed the hurricane going through Florida, or even on the south end of Florida, at which point they may have went on to impact Alabama.

Was he utilizing old information? Yea, at the time of his statement, his info was pretty out of date, but for the love of God, the majority of what people are crapping on him about is just...false.

Got me.

I actually never realized there was a second tab on the page for other speeds. So now admit you are wrong too. Notice how it exactly mirrors the tropical force path (just smaller).

Yet not several comments ago people are crapping on the dude who made a comment that the map shows it's path being projected in that direction.

This whole argument remains absolutely insane. Literally.

I just cannot believe how incredibly much people are arguing about this.

I even saw something saying how Trump shouldn't be talking about things he isn't an expert on...uhhhhhhh I don't think most Presidents are experts on all topics they discuss.

The funniest part about the entire thing, though, is just how Trump acts like a doofus after it all to try and prove he is right, thus further making people make fun of him.

I'm pretty sure the Presidential position (with the press how it is now) would literally be most effective by literally telling people nothing. Dont even have a SOTU. Just literally say no comment to everything.

Because all i see on political sites nowadays is all the stupid things people from the other parties have said.

I even saw a headline how it was just horrible that Trump was golfing on Sunday while the islands were getting battered.

For one thing, it's Sunday (not even a normal working day). For two, it wasn't even a US state being hit, so what exactly is his presidential duty at that time?

The guy apparently likes to golf. So did Obama. So do a lot of people. Let them have a little fun, for the love of God.

Apparently most of the numbers we were told about student loan changes during Obama era by the CBO were completely and totally wrong.

It apparently has to do with limitations to the CBO and how they are allowed to calculate things. I'm curious how that could impact other calculations they release, being that these numbers are frequently touted by politicians as the ultimate truth.
