Forums - Sony Discussion - Ys IX (PS4) first gameplay, new details

That city looks so empty and lifeless, I wouldn't feel compelled to explore it. Not a fan of the art direction neither. Movement/traversal looks good.

So in other words, I might as well get the PC version. Well at least it's on that. I would have had to buy a Vita just to play a single game. Vita's library is one of the worst ever.

Well you can still get I, II , Oath in Felghana and Seven on PSP - and then Memories of Celceta and Origin on PSVita.

Just saw the gameplay video. The aesthetics of the city looks really bland. There's barely any people populating this huge city as well. I don't mind PS2 or PS3 graphics at all. In fact I think a lot of PS2 and PS3 games look better than modern games today, due to a better art direction. But this game just looks bland on top of having old graphics. At least the gameplay should be fun.

Its probably test footage to show the movement/traversal methods - final game and the actual first trailer will probably showcase how the actual game will look later on.

This is a huge leap forward for the series.

I recently finished and platinumed DQXI/Tales of Vesperia and Ni No Kuni II had a good ride, then I went to Y'IIIs VIII and stopped playing it after 5-6 hours it really was boring. It feels like one of those 7/10 games that you still could enjoy a lot but I could not manage it pity.

Let's see when it releases if it will fit my taste.
