You are on fire lately.

Basically this. We appreciate all the work you put in.

will this link appear on desktop version of the site too? would be cool to have an easy way to dismiss them without having to click into the notifications, like... it's cool that they let a user know that something has gone on, but you can see from the drop down list what the notification is without navigating to the actual separate page to dismiss it.

Awesome if it does! and if not that's cool news for those on mobile devices, thanks Talon man.

Rumors of the avatar drop-down not working on iOS mobile devices, has forced me to provide an alternate way to clear the notification count - you can now do so, from the Forum Buddy -> Notifications tab. If you have active and unread notifications available, a link will appear at the top allowing you to "Clear Notifications" from within the Buddy.

As always - any bugs/questions/problems, please let me know here...

For reasons so you can better test your features I had to like your post so you get a notification.

No easy way to do it that way without injecting more ajax and complicating the "are you who you say you are?" type of security (otherwise I would have done it that way, from the start) - and frankly, with all that's going on right now and all the changes that are rolling out, I didn't think it was worth the effort to invest several more hours in something like that...    ...maybe in the future, but not now.

Okay, I see.

Something else: There's something wrong with gergroy. His avatar has always been suspicious. I wonder if he manually liked/unliked the same post over 20 times within a minute or if a bug is the cause for the flood of notifications.

Who would do such a thing? I certainly wouldn’t.....

but yes, I did do that.  It is kind of hilarious that it actually worked... but perhaps an annoying exploit to be fixed?

If you're just screwing with Rol and it's a friendly thing that's not really bothering him, fine...      ...just let it be known - I can easily see who does things like this, and it won't be a happy ending for anybody that abuses this stuff.

ah sorry if you think this was me being a dick I clicked like and unlike in your OP post a few times just to basically test to see if it would trigger multiple notifications for you, since I can't like my own posts here anymore I figured that doing it to your post would test it... and give you the results of that test directly if it had the bad notification effect that I thought that it might have had.

Like I said it wasn't done intentionally of course since I've left on my ID with my likes! It was done... for

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.
