I'll keep an eye on it.

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

People made fun and criticized the NDirects back then but they were WAY AHEAD of the competition. Looking back, this format is just the smartest thing you can do now and Nintendo really built that as strong routine over the years.

Hyped ! Can't wait for it.
This is another indication that sony intends to move away from E3 and spread their announcements throughout the year similar to direct.
This is way better than cramping everything at one event.
All their smaller games and PSVR stuff gets more spotlight and attention.

Right on the money.

They were already spreading stuff through the year at CES, GDC, E3, TGS, Gamescom, Paris, and PSX, but aside from PSX, they were putting them self in direct competition with everything else going on for coverage.

By doing their own events, on their own time, they can make announcements when they are ready, and make sure they are done when nothing else will destract from them.

I'm keeping my expectations low for this, but hopefully we get a few surprises. Something like a Twisted Metal Battle Royal or PlayStation All Stars Battle Royal 2 would be cool. This is the perfect time for Sony's typical end of the generation experimental stabs.

My biggest hope is for an update on Blood and Truth. If we get that, I'll be happy.

That's just the way it goes. People freak out about new things. You would think that would have changed with how technology has grown over the last 120 years, but for some reason change still means the end of the world to some people. It is wired to me, because anyone alive right now that has access to the web to even freak out about change, has never lived in a time where there was not dramatic change happening every day of their lives.

You are absolutely right though, this is the one area that Nintendo actually beat Sony and Microsoft to the punch in the online space.

Ill tune in for a Sony Direct. MS should jump on this kinda thing too.

Took time for Sony to see the viability of a program like that. At least, some of you won't have to wait until PGW,Gamescom,E3 or PSX to get news on upcoming software/hardware now, I guess ^^

Copying Nintendo Direct and Inside Xbox huh? Seems to be closer to Inside Xbox than Nintendo Direct, expect far more talking than announcements.

nice, is this something like the nintendo direct?

This is exciting. Sounds smart, both marketing-wise and financially. Props to Nintendo for paving the way, here.

Interesting that the Persona R announcement comes 2 days before this. Must not be a PS4 exclusive announcement...
