First game came out in 2000 as "Redemption" for PC
Second game is called Bloodlines which came out in 2004 for PC.
This is the third game "Bloodlines 2" .
So they kinda did what Rockstar did with Red Dead (Revolver -> Redemption 1 -> Redemption 2).
Its a CRPG and a cult classic/favorite.
I have both of the first games on Steam - still need to play them.

Just to add to this, Vampire: the Masquerade is part of a larger Tabletop RPG Universe called World of Darkness, which includes Vampires, Werewolfes, Magi, Hunters, Mummies, Changelings, Spectres..., each with their own rulebooks and endgame. Sadly, since they are not balanced to each other, you can't really mix the the different parts together.
As for the lore, Vampires are also called Cainites, as they are supposedly descendants of the biblical Cain. Siring a Vampire rises the generation, the higher the generation, the thinner the vampiric blood and the weaker the powers are. The 13 Vampires that existed before the deluge are the basis of the vampire clans, as each one descends of one of them. But the clans hate each other with a passion and are in a neverending Jihad, Clan against Clan, Elders against younglings.
Each vampire clan has it's own set of powers (called disciplines) and weaknesses.
Hint: Play redemption first, as it will explain you everything step by step, both from a medieval and from a modern perspective. And the story is great!
