""Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is an exhilarating journey that demands your full attention. Taking advantage of stealth and mastering its posture-based swordplay is immensely satisfying. Meanwhile, the wonderful, expansive world is a joy to explore thanks to intriguing design and the emphasis on grappling to new heights. Sekiro often feels daunting, leaving you bloodied and broken at its feet, but overcoming each challenge it throws your way fills you with a triumphant sense of accomplishment.

Score: 9.5 / 10""

Hm...as much as I love Souls, this one does nothing for me so far. Sure, it's not Souls, but core principle of try/die is the same. I'll push on for few more days I guess, and see if it sparks anything.

Its really not a souls game maybe that's the problem.  I believe you should totally dismiss what you have learned, experienced and view from souls or bloodborne and play this game with a more open mine.  You may still not like it but at least you are not carrying over the souls formula believing this game is the same or even plays anything like it.

Yeah, I was well aware it's not a Souls game, apart from respawn mechanism...but I wasn't expecting to get quite indifferent so fast Though, to be honest, if it wasn't From's game I doubt I would ever go for it in the first place. Anyway, I'll give it a try few more days and see how it goes.

I suck, Fuck these developers, Fuck this game and fuck you!

Love a game that makes me feel like an absolute failure, love it, I'm glad I didn't manage these bosses, I'm ecstatic that I done worse than I done yesterday. This game really makes you feel like a piece of shit and I love that.

I still believe in you!

Anyways, what made you think you could beat the Demon of Hatred in 3 attempts? He was the hardest boss in the game from what I've fought so far. What's your playstyle like? Are you good at deflecting? What's your favorite tool and weapon skill?

I managed to get the lazulite shuriken and it was an amazing upgrade.

Didn't you beat the game already? Are you now trying to find every last hidden, yet impossible boss, for the best ending?

I'm just trying to follow the path I've choosen, I don't want to get spoilerish but I couldn finish the game now but it's not the decision I want to make for the story, I spent to much time clearing every inch of the map, returning to NPC's and doing side quests to give up on the path I'm on although I am getting a strong hint that I amn't supposed to be able to go this path on my first play through yet if that is the case why the fuck would they leave it open to me. I might give In and bitch out for the final boss I can go for now or I might even just put the game down cause it's causing way to much fucking physical stress.

I want the story to end on my terms and what I think should happen in the world, not on what the developers have set out for my first run through.

The souls games never prevented you from going in any direction you wanted.  Actually that is the same formula here.  You can go anywhere and fight pretty much any boss you wanted at whatever level you are at, but if its to difficult then you had to build up your character and come back later.  Basically you are given the chance to do what you want but maybe you need a break to sort things out.

I actually thought the Demon of Hatred was one of the easier bosses in the game. Pretty slow, and very telegraphed attacks...all easy to dodge. If you need a little something extra, use divine confetti, and the malcontent upgraded whistle (this will stun him for a while).

@John: Dang, I didn't realize it was causing you so much stress. I understand the feeling, though. That's a real bummer; I thought for sure that after removing the Demon Bell you would cruise through the rest of the game. Didn't Miyazaki say that this game was supposed to be easier than the other Soulsborne games? I thought I remembered reading or hearing about it somewhere. Maybe there is a mechanic you aren't utilizing properly. Do you deflect multiple blows in a row?

Interesting, I had no idea confetti would buff attacks for this fight. I didn't use prosthetic tools much for the fight, but based on the amount of damage he dealt I wouldn't put him on my personal list of easiest bosses.

What I am finding is that these late game bosses tend to play out much differently in terms of pacing, as now I have 10 healing sips, so I can make a lot of mistakes and still win.

A mistake i made in the beginning was trying to time every L1 tap to deflect those fast attacks but when i just tap L1 fastly without timing inbetween it just always deflects them.

Yeah, fighting this demon is much easier with items and tools, I rarely use them as I almost always just beat bosses through deflecting except the headless and scichimen of course, but anyways, dying for an hour to the demon, I gave up and just used the confetti plus the rice for the third life pool, then, beat him in two tries, felt weird at first, but I just got tired of dying so yeah, then comes the final boss, now that one has to be my longest fight ever in the game.

Btw, maxed VIT at 20 and attack at 14 from the mask and yet the owl is still tearing my pride to shreds, lighting it on fire and taking a shit on what is left. If anyone says this fight is easy, I will seppuku my left testicle.

;)

Do you want any hints to the Owl2 fight.  It will still be hard but at least you will have something you can improve on to get pass him.
