Depends where you are, I guess. 50mbps is now the slowest broadband plan available to me. I'm on the second cheapest plan, at 100mbps. If I separated from cable, and included all taxes, it would cost about $70 per month, no cap. 1000mbps comes in around $110 per month, if I want it.
Well, I've never seen it this fast before
This morning it was down to less than 1 mbps. A fresh reboot of modem and wifi extender fixed that. 11ms ping through wifi extender, pretty good.
The problem is not that my connection can't be fast, it's highly unreliable. I have to reboot my modem at least once a week to get a better connection to the hub. Drops happen, I go from 5 bars during the afternoon to 3 bars in prime time on GTS, with the odd disconnect still happening. It doesn't seem one day goes by without some kind of connection issues. I wouldn't want to risk playing a game where I could lose everything due to a few seconds of extreme macro blocking or buffering.

Hopefully this image works (never had to post one before). So my new 250 Mbps connection is spot on when I run a speed test on my Macbook, but when I try it on my PC (using a wireless USB wifi adapter) I am getting in the range of 20 to 50 Mbps, fluctuating quite often.
I have a N300 Netgear Wifi Adapter. Any suggestions?

You would think they could charge more to the urban customers who get the first crack at the upgrades, and use that to offset the extra installation cost for most if not all of the rural customers who would always get served second and have to wait. Crazy idea I know.

That was actually over WiFi. I decided to plug into my router just to see how fast I could potentially get.
The company advertises 300 Mbps (upload and download). Looks like I am getting my money's worth. 
This also gives me a new appreciation for my ISP. I should consider plugging in for my main streaming device. I get a lot better performance.
