Forums - Politics Discussion - Official 2020 US Election: Republican Party Discussion

Yeah... Trump is taking this one easily, I doubt anyone would be a threat even if the economy worsens or something.

Larry Hogan seems like he would be OK though, for a modern Republican, shame.

Trump's approval rating in Israel is very high and considering how much they control the GOP and network donors the answer is he has no chance of being dethroned in primaries. He is an incumbent and will have more money than any of his challengers by far. He probably won't spend any of his own money this time around either. I would like to see him get primaries, but that list right now includes candidates that are all unelectable against Trump or most democrat candidates. I doubt any one of them even have above a 50% approval within the party. Bob Corker and John Kasich are extremely unpopular among their own voting base right now.

To be honest the only way I would see myself voting against Trump is if the Dems run Yang against him, but let's be real that's not gonna happen.

Yeah this thread will be very sad indeed. Hoping for a Bernie or Tulsi win. Bernie is very likely to win the primaries if the DNC doesn't screw him over and I think Bernie can beat Trump.

Thankfully all those in power that were shady as hell are gone. I just this new group has a little more dignity and integrity.

You mean in the DNC or the government? Trust me there are plenty of corrupt corporatists in both. Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Shumer for 2. The DNC tried to block new progressives with their recent policy remember. And the US government recently appointed a war criminal on Elliot Abrams to handle Venezuela plus it has tools like Barr and Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump and Kelly Anne Conway and Betsie Devos among others. Trust me there are many shady people in power in the DNC, GOP and the government. The fight of the people Vs the corporatists is just beginning.

I'm specifically referring to the people in the DNC that conspired against Bernie Sanders to nominate Hillary Clinton.  They are gone.

But we have new people to take their place. Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Pete Buttigieg and others.

Neither of whom work at the DNC.

But they have massive power in the party and who knows, they might be working with someone from the DNC in secret. You can't trust people who benefit from the current system to easily let Sanders change the 2ntire game so their money making schemes can stop

At least some are owning up their mistake of giving all their support to Clinton and screwing Sanders over, and vowing to not do that again:

However, this thread is for the republican primaries, so I think we better drop the subject here and move over to the one of the democratic primaries for that.

There isn't much to talk about at this stage, Trump has no real competition yet - and I doubt he will get any until after the primaries are over and the democrats chose their candidate.
