its ok they will probably get persona 5 along with all those final fantasy games thats coming soon. that should be more than enough jrpgs for xbox this gen

You sure they're getting Persona 5? I'm not convinced. Switch....more than likely.

if switch gets persona 5 so will xbox. its much easier to port it to xbox so why not.

How much harder can it be to port to Switch? I thought it relied on cel-shaded graphics.

Some days I just blow up.

This should surprise exactly no one to hear about titles not making their way to the X1 now, considering the figures it is sell each week, if short of resources right now for ports the X1 would have to be the port to get canned.

Fancy hearing me on an amateur podcast with friends gushing over one of my favourite games? https://youtu.be/1I7JfMMxhf8

Eh, the 360 got exclusive JRPGs in addition to some multiplatform games (as a lot of that list is just ports of games already on 360). Not a single one of those games require an Xbox to play them, so I find it hard to agree with you.

Keep playing exclusives, I'd rather play games and that's where X1 has clearly more and better JRPGs.
Also out of the 21 Xbox One games I've listed there are only 3 ports of 360 games on the list (Dark Souls 2, Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen and Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition), so what are you talking about?

The 3 FF13 games were all on 360 as well. I thought Pier Solar was on 360 (it even made it to Wii U lol), but it avoided the platform. I should worded my post to 360 era, because ports of older games that have already been released in English don't really even land for me. Felt the list was being fluffed a bit. Would be like me arguing with things like Operation Darkness and Zoids Assault.

Probably because Atlus has way more confidence it will do better on Switch then PS4.

yes but it wouldnt cost much to port it over to xbox so why not do it and make a tiny profit along with the switch version just like square porting all the final fantasy games to xbox.

By that logic, Xbox would have Shin Megami Tensei IV, IV A and V too

No wonder Microsoft can't get an audience in Japan. -_-

Even when MS was really investing in content to gain ground in Japan, it didn't go great for them.

Look at last gen. Between their 1st party efforts, money hatting 3rd party exclusives and increased support from Japanese studios in general, they didn't sell many 360's in Japan. Maybe those efforts were worthwhile in the long run given the Xbox brand has pretty good support from Japanese developers, but Japan wants Sony and Nintendo devices.

I’d nope the fuck out just at the box art alone.

Of course you would...

OT: not surprised. The interest in the system pretty much collapsed in a year from both consumers and developers, and I doubt a niche Japanese title would find success on it.

Xbox have a good quantity of Rpgs, not only jrpgs, The ports of final Fantasy 7, 10,10-2 and 12 are great additions to finish this generation.
Thanks to backward compatibility , i have access to great rpgs from xbox 360 (Lost odsyssey, blue dragon, etc) and the original Xbox (Jade empire, Kotor, kotor 2, morrowind, etc) so we have less games compared to PS4, but is not a bad situation.
About the canceled game, is just rpg maker for console, nothing important i think. A port of Disgaea will be a real offer from NIS.

Sorry for my bad english.

You bring up a good point. If you like RPGs in general, the Xbox One is a unique platform by offering modern games in the genre along with a large collection of RPGs from OG Xbox and 360.

But if you're the kind of person who is crazy about JRPGs, which I think is a relatively small audience, its not exactly worth fighting for. Let Sony and Nintendo fight over that.
