My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

And they are releasing it in 2 versions: One that's optimized to modern computers, and one that plays exactly like in 1996, in glorious 20FPS SVGA graphics.

Ill wait until it officially releases on Battle.net. I would hate having my Blizzard games all over the place. Besides I don't use GoG. Good for those who are craving it.

Just fucking release it on PS4 already.
Diablo is still on my top 10 after all these years.
Such a masterpiece.

Should be able to buy a Playstation 3 and play the Playstation 1 version.

Or... You can run with Diablo 3 and play the re-make with the The Darkening of Tristram.

Would be nice for all Blizzard games to be available on all Platforms though, just because they are a big part of gaming history and everyone should have the opportunity to experience some of gamings best.

Yeah. The classic version bought on Blizzards website doesn't transfer over to the app... Same goes for the StarCraft and WarCraft games.

Having them on GOG is more or less for people who want a DRM-free option without any apps or clients being needed.

If Im not mistaken, Diablo 1 will never come to battle.net(at least as it is now), due to battle net not handling the code/launcher/something along those lines well. That is the reason it went to GOG because they speciallise in old games.

That's fine, I already own the original game so I am in no rush. I am sure Blizzard who is a multi-billion dollar company can work out the issues in bringing there own games to there own network sometime in the near future.

I always thought they didn't have all the publishing rights to the first one because they were part of Sierra at the time. But now after some research I found out that they are part of Activision Blizzard (in fact, all what was once Sierra is now the Blizzard part of that union)

At least they have the wherewithal to make it a front page news story.

Lately, a lot of the stuff they have been featuring arguably hasn't been very good, certainly hasn't been old, and in some cases you could raise question about it being games at all. :)

Got it, have it on CD already... but I like to get digital copies that I know work.

Such a classic and just hearing the tune at the start and the voices of the characters such as cain, brings back so many great memories of playing it many years ago. Good times.
