If you think other business don't do this practice then you're sadly mistaken.  It's just many businesses dont say it like how Capcom says it because clearly you can tell it sounds stupid and will just receive a lot of backlash.

One thought could be that Capcom has a set budget for each console so for Capcom to produce more for Switch they rely on making more money from Switch which is why they require DD to sell well on Switch? But that's just a thought (of many), who knows how their business is run or what the shareholders want.  Only way to truly know is to be at their boardroom meetings lol

For sure, I agree with that first paragraph and that's sort of what I meant, no other business is going to come out and give these types of ultimatums and if they do than it's with products that are related.

Like with my example, Disney isnt going to axe Avengers because Mary Poppins or Toy Story flops. The only thing that will stop them from releasing Avengers is if the MCU has a significant decline.

If this was a DMC 1-4 Collection than it would make sense to see how sales are before committing to DMC5 since they belong to the same series but to base your decision around Dragon's Dogma which belongs to a difference series and genre is baffling.

As for your 2nd paragraph, again I dont disagree with that, i can think of a handful of legitimate reasons for Capcom not to port over DMC5 but I dont think this is one of them.

You could very well be right too.  This could just be a lame attempt at Capcom trying to boost DD sales for Switch.  I'd like to think that Capcom has been successful enough on the Switch that they dont need to resort to these cheap marketing tricks if this is one.

Are we still being tested? Thought us Switch owners had passed all Capcom tests.

They are just waiting for a flop so they can say "See? Noone buys our games here, we won't do anything here anymore!"

Yes, sure. Companies just look for excuses to avoid making profit, makes plenty of sense.

You didn't. Not talking about sales on Japan, I'm talking about sales of japanese developed games. Quite a number of them are released WW and some have X1 release others don't.

You know it is comparable and that the only real difference is that company hardly would be clear that their products are evaluated on profit and that define other ventures.

Ya I misread what you said, makes alot more sense now.

Yep, no problem.

But sure the dev is being moronic. Except that seems like he isn't the person that should be talking about it so he isn't trained on the corporate replies, which is also moronic on his part to reply without having authority to do it.

Ahhhhh. More testing. Marvelous!

Interesting point. On the other hand, Chick Fil A said a lot of awful things about homosexual people and never backtracked. I mean, don't homosexual people spend money and bring in profit, too? Companies not wanting to cater to a certain demographic has always been a thing and as long as companies are comprised of humans, bias will rear the ugly head once in a while and counteract all logical thinking from people like you or me.

Jeez, was not aware it was a super old game, chill peeps.

Don't think any of it is upset towards you, just that Capcom draw a lot of fire for doing this move and aye I see your original comment was answered a few times in almost the same way.

Think you just tried to play devils advocate for the devil on this one :D

Resident Evil Revelations 1 & 2 sold well on the Switch and what do we get? Ports of even older RE games for a HIGHER price.

No thanks Capcom.

Aye, here in Europe to get those 3 Gamecube games on the Switch the total price tag is €90 or 30 per title with absolutely zero discount for buying more than one of them like the Origins collection offered on the PS4 and PC, 90 for 3 games almost 2 decades old is insane.

Massimus - "Trump already has democrat support."

I'm not sure why they feel the need to do this. Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate and a fucking 28 year old Street Fighter II port sold great. Hell, their one noteworthy Wii U game did fantastically, and their Wii games did well before that. There's clearly a market for their games. Now they're hinging further support on a Dragon's Dogma port that released some ~16 months ago on PS4/XB1 and didn't light up sales charts on those consoles? Capcom if you don't want to develop on Switch because of power or whatever reason then just say so. Don't hide behind some garbage excuse like this.

Ah the good 'ol Capcom hostage tactic. I think it's safe to say that the Switch is a success and that it can sustain third party games and deliver respectable sales at this point, I dunno why Capcom keeps acting so apprehensive. If the game can run on Switch, port it. If it can't, fine, but don't give people false hope to try to squeeze out some extra sales out of pity and fear.

Goddammit Capcom. Why are you being so lame with Nintendo and Switch when you are being so awesome with everyone else?
