Because the flag in Europe has Sony on it.

I have only one explanation about the domination of the PS4 over the Switch in Europe : FIFA

US and Japan don't give a fuck about soccer, but UK, Germany, France, Spain and Italy have the best soccer in the world, the FIFA license alone could explain a lot of the sales.

You guys should look at what hes asking, it has nothing to do with PS4. Hes asking why Switch is lower in Europe than it is in Japan when Nintendo's most recent data shows Switch doing better in Europe than Japan.

Yeah, I was asking why Switch's doing worse in Europe than Japan despite the previous shipment report suggested the trajectory of the system in Europe was doing better than Japan.

If you look at their recent presentation it gives sell-through in N. America, Europe & Japan in the last 3 quarters.

April-June & July-Sept are pretty neck and neck for Japan & Europe while Oct-Dec is significantly higher in Europe so maybe now that the holidays are over they are back to selling a similar amount.

So holiday boost was the primary reason why European > Japan in Q3. Does Switch number in Europe this year increase over the last year number in a similar timeframe based on Vgchartz data?

According to this site it did 51k in this week last year vs 58k this year so up a little. I would say it's probably a bit undertracked based on how much higher US/Japan are according to NPD/Media Create.

For that to happen PS4 would have to outsell Switch by around 50 million lifetime, which seems extremely unlikely.

Something like:

135m PS4's
85m Switch's
50m XB1's

It could happend... depends on how long the switch keeps selling like it is currently.

135m PS4 and 50m Xbone sounds about right, but 85m for Switch seems to low IMO, I can't see it going from selling as well as it is now to topping out below the Xbox 360.

Yes I think Switch will do better than 360 too.

Shouldn’t we be adding wiiu numbers in there too?  I mean it is a home console rather than a handheld and it released closer to ps4s release than switch did

I would put them in too since it's the Wii U is like you said on the PS4/One generation but it seems people who are running this website think otherwise :-|

Not only that, but at the end of 2020 we will have on the front page's graph: "This Generation: PS5, X2, Switch"

And I wonder what will they qualify as "Last Generation" by then.

To be honest I’d be satisfied with yearly sales of 6th and 5th gen
