You know there would. Every game that have a white male have someone complaining that it could be a woman or black, and if it is cis, it could be trans or non-binary.

This was funny :D        Media is like this, they always find a foothold for controversy or complaint.

they live and get clicks out of it.

Please list the few thousand games where the sole protagonist is a gruff white male.

You ask this from a position of doubt that there exists that many games with a gruff, white male protagonist.

Either you are seriously lacking in the knowledge of video games or are just be antagonistic and want me to waste time collating a list of over 1,000 games.

You claimed there are a few thousands of games with sole gruff white male protagonist. Please show proof. Don't try to shift focus and attack or name call me.

I agree with your point regarding America that white people are not as dominant as they once were. But the point I'm trying to make regarding India is you could just as easily say, oh another Gruff Indian leading this new bollywood film, how boring. And my reply would be the same. Why does it matter if the lead is yet again Indian. It shouldnt be a factor. Now if games were being made based in say Africa and they were picking white leads regularly I could see a point in complaining.

If you agree with my boldened point then you should get why.  They wouldn't mention Indian because its the expectation that the lead will be indian and any other ethnicity would be far off from the countries population & raise eyebrows. Instead the comment would just be "oh, another gruffy, generic masculine lead" because Indian is a given... In the US you have almost half the population representing hispanic, black, asian yet very little of this represented in games, which is why white is also mentioned. As has been said 100x, change the race of the character and he wouldn't appear so generic on  appearance value and author of the review may have been more intrigued or found it refreshing. I've already broken my promise not to respond again in this thread so I won't elaborate anymore (no one outside of the this forum seems to care about this topic anyway lol)

Have a nice week, hope you understand now

We're talking Oregon here and their white population dwarfs the Hispanic or African American populations. It's by far the most common and makes absolute sense when creating a character from this area.

Just to give you some math, in 40 years that would mean just 25 games per year have to fit that criteria.  Obviously fewer existed in the early days but I'm having a hard to comprehending how you can be dubious of the numbers.

A list is being built (already well over 100 and barely into the PS2/Xbox era) but why did you move the goal posts in your reply?  Sole?

Games that you can hear the voice and have behavior for the chars would have less than 20 years. But you can show me this plenty of 40 year old games with gruff white man.

Ok you can ignore the sole and go for gruff white male protagonist. But put the few thousands you claimed.

Yeah man, I quit reading and looking at anything from the major gaming sites because they talk like that. I only watch Easy Allies. They're the best anyways. http://www.easyallies.com

Their betting specials are the best. https://youtu.be/va4kXmuMAlY?list=PLwa6fmqvU-4HYpuBoOoaEFBXEPfi-oW4Q

They have a new studio now for the last 2 months, so they are looking really legit.
