So, the charts will go back to normal soon.

KH3 and more importantly Judge Eyes (Sega stopping shipments) are back in the top 10 in Japan due to the Pierre Taki news. He voices Olaf from Frozen in KH3 and more importantly an important character that uses his likeness in JE.

Also, Frozen is ranking high in the movie section.

Just let it go

is the reason pokemon sword and shield are doing so poorly because people are waiting to know more about each game to pick which version to buy?

Their release is still a full pregnancy period away, they are actually charting not too badly by that metric. What's more, PLG certainly steals some of those early preorders right now since it is, well, already available right now and not just in 9 months.

There are certainly also small groups who can't yet decide, wait for a double pack or a special Switch bundle. But I think the above is much more true right now.

Judge Eyes is at 1 and KH3 moves to 4 in Japan. Amazing.

Seeing how good that $35 gift card SKU did, Nintendo should just finally drop the price of the Switch by $50. Every console already had a price cut at this point in time.

I agree, I've heard so many people on the fence about  getting the switch waiting for a price cut.

Well, it's still holding very strong, and if we include Best Buy and Gamestop, has a commanding lead over the PS4 and the XBO. It's selling better than ever in Japan.

In other words, yes, the 35$ gift card had a great effect, but a price cut is nowhere needed yet for Nintendo.

Besides, considering that the other SKU dropped quite a lot (and are climbing up fast now that the 35$ SKT is sold out), I'm not sure if it boosted overall sales by that much and instead just pushed buyers to get that model instead.
