any particular reason you never picked it up.

Mainly backlog and then kept telling myself I'll get around to it and just never did.

Thought so, so how's your backlog now making progress or might you be playing it on the Switch 2 or PS5 ?

Research shows Video games  help make you smarter, so why am I an idiot

I still don't believe that Persona 5 comes to Switch, Persona was from the first game onward a Sony exclusive, why would they change that now?

Because the Nintendo Switch is months away from becoming market leader in Japan, it’s software sales are whitehot, and thanks the game’s PS3 release we know the Switch is fully capable of running the game.

So...money, basically.

Are people still waiting and hoping for this game to come to the switch? If they really wanted to play it they would've played it already. The game is over 2 year old

1. Not everyone owns a PS4

2. Many people who have, haven’t necessarily had the time to play it (like me)

3. Lots of people (myself included) would prefer to have it on a portable devices.

I own, I’ve played it, but I haven’t had time for couch gaming, so I’ve never gotten much past the first dungeon. I’m on the fence about getting it, but I will definitely be tempted (especially if it has new content, like P4 Golden).

Are people really excited about buying an updated version of a game that only came out 2 years ago? This is why the market is loaded with lootboxes and other dodgey crap, people should avoid it's release.

No it isn’t. The market is loaded with loot boxes and dodgy crap because publishers have become addicted to growth, and are doing everything they can to maintain it.

There is absolutely nothing wrong about an updated port on a new platform. In fact, that very practice goes back decades. Even updates to games on the SAME platform are nothing new, especially in Japan. The original Metal Gear Solid did that. They were how games were released with additional content/patches before DLC became a thing.

They never really stopped either. Its fine to not like the practice, but it doesn’t really have anything to do with these modern, predatory practices.

I don't know why people are against the idea of P5 going to Switch or any other platform that isn't PlayStation. It's basic business for 3rd parties, put their games on multiple platforms to maximize their revenue. Why do you think we barely see any 3rd party exclusives anymore compared to the 90s and early 2000s? Sega, the company that owns Atlus knows this. Look at the past 3 years for Sega, you'll see that most of their games are on PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Switch. Even though JRPGs don't sell that well on Xbox One compared to the other three platforms Sega still puts their games on it. Square Enix made Kingdom Hearts 3 for PS4 and Xbox One, and I fully expect a PC port later. Capcom put Monster Hunter World on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. These companies have slowly but learned making games multiplat will bring in more sales. Atlus is just behind the competition, but I do expect them to finally learn.

Yet Yakuza, another series that is exclusive to PS4 never jumped to Switch did it? Owww it didn't even got ported to Xbox as well.

Not all 3rd party games have a need to be ported.

Modern Yakuza games probably couldn’t run on Switch.

But the Wii U actually got a Yakuza release. A port of the original game, originally made for the PS3.

Its also on ps3 so anyone who were desperate to play it would've managed to borrow a ps3 from someone or get it cheap somewhere. And the game was only $20 on psn ps3. I just dont know why people are still waiting and hoping it to release on the switch to play it. Theres been a few persona 5 switch threads in the past few months and it seems like persona 5 is one of their most anticipated game but the game is 2 year old

if P5"S" means Switch, then what the hell does P5"R" means? lmao

More sales, which leads to more money.  Sony does not own the IP, Atlus can do whatever they want with it.

as of right now I'm pretty good. Got DMC V and Yoshi coming up, so I can play games at a steady pace right now without having to rush through anything to clear a big backlog

My guess would be "Ruby" or if they are going with something basic maybe "Revision" or something of that format.

Persona 5 Rumble. A brand new fighting game! That or a party game with Persona characters...

You know it deserves the GOTY.
