Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Persona 5 S To Release This Fall?

I don't know why people are against the idea of P5 going to Switch or any other platform that isn't PlayStation. It's basic business for 3rd parties, put their games on multiple platforms to maximize their revenue. Why do you think we barely see any 3rd party exclusives anymore compared to the 90s and early 2000s? Sega, the company that owns Atlus knows this. Look at the past 3 years for Sega, you'll see that most of their games are on PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Switch. Even though JRPGs don't sell that well on Xbox One compared to the other three platforms Sega still puts their games on it. Square Enix made Kingdom Hearts 3 for PS4 and Xbox One, and I fully expect a PC port later. Capcom put Monster Hunter World on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. These companies have slowly but learned making games multiplat will bring in more sales. Atlus is just behind the competition, but I do expect them to finally learn.

Yet Yakuza, another series that is exclusive to PS4 never jumped to Switch did it? Owww it didn't even got ported to Xbox as well.

Not all 3rd party games have a need to be ported.

Are people really excited about buying an updated version of a game that only came out 2 years ago? This is why the market is loaded with lootboxes and other dodgey crap, people should avoid it's release.

Or, hear me out, people should buy what they want to buy and not worry about what other people are buying.

You can buy what ever trash you want just don't complain when every game released is only half finished and the real product is released 20 months later.

It's on PC which proves his point on going multiplatform.

Sounds to me like you need to find a new hobby with that mentality.   Or, at the very least, become educated about the state and history of the games that are the topics of the threads you choose to jump into and shit on.

Plenty of games got the console exclusivity with no one caring about it going to PC, because console makers are not much concern with losing sales to PC.

Still if we are really talking about multiplatform, then it would also be on Xbox and Switch since both can handle it.

Except he was talking about going multiplatform in general so it being on PC backs his point you literally made a null and void response here as you've decided to only argue a specific angle which doesn't match the context of what was said.

The context that not all games, not all devs go for all platforms, seems like I didn't miss the point. But if you wish to call it your victory I won't keep on repeating same point.

I still don't believe that Persona 5 comes to Switch, Persona was from the first game onward a Sony exclusive, why would they change that now?

*Looks at Monster Hunter until Tri*

Are you suggesting that Nintendo is going to pay Atlus to cancel Persona 5 on playstation platforms and start over on Switch?

And that release window sounds about right. Will have been nearly 2 years apart from the original release.

Not anywhere here is he saying what you're trying to argue from in the angle you've taking he's basically saying multiplatform is a pretty standard thing now and you proved him right when you mentioned Yakuza which is multiplatform what further shoots you down is Wii U has a Yakuza 1 and 2 on top of the series being on PC, you're trying to argue console exclusives when that never was the context to begin with, you won't repeat your point because you never really had one to begin with.

The funny thing is where is the clamour for SMT to come to PS or all those other 3rd party exclusive jrpgs on Nintendo platforms , when Monster hunter was handcuffed to Nintendo I never heard much in the way of it should be on all platforms coming from Nintendo  fans and to be honest PS fans were the the same just wanting it on their platform  showing that the beneficiary is usually happy. Now it might not be the only factor but let's not kid ourselves most of this is based on partisanship and it cuts across all sides.

What it boils down to is first and foremost whether we like to admit it or not we want our number 1 platform of choice to have all the games on it that we want on rival platforms and equality takes second place.
