I don't know who 'we' is, but Sword & Shield definitely look a lot more like I wanted and expected a new Pokémon game to be than Yokai 4 does (both gameplay and graphics-wise).

More generic pokemon games, thought they would put in more effort.

I don't know what sales have to do what is essentially another Pokemon that moves away from advancements made by previous entries. I don't care that Pokemon is gonna sell a shit ton. In a time frame where the rest of Nintendo's game are adapting to new hardware and new trends, Pokemon is stuck in a age that it should have abandoned several entries ago. Were still getting silly 8 bit animations for Pokemon attacking? Why just not have them attack now? The fixed camera angle.. why? its a 3D game! Random battles are back? why? Its like they're using "How to create a Pokemon  game edition 1" from 15+ years ago...throw that shit in the trash and move on. This should have been the redefining Pokemon game, but its a resting on your laurels Pokemon game.

Looks pretty and the region looks fun. Reminds me of England or most parts of Europe.

The starters look...undesirable to me. However Scorbunny looks the best especially since its a fire bunny. However, the thing over his nose is distracting.

I was hoping the one mechanic they take from Lets Go was the Pokemon wandering around grass instead of the random encounters.

So far it looks so samey but we'll see.

Not too exciting but i'll probably give them my money again. Hopefully I can at least beat it this time.

It's what happens when you expect too much from gamefreak. I personally expected nothing and i'm pretty satisfied. Sure if you thought this would be a Botw level game while literally NO pokemon game was ever like ground breaking that's on you. I think this is a big step in the right direction from the past games, this looks WAY better than gen 6 and gen 7 which is all i asked.

Not sure what all the whining is about. This Pokémon game looks a lot better than any of the earlier ones.

I’m confused about all the random grind battles returning being a problem? Just a few months ago I was pointing out how the Let’s Go games improved the situation by getting rid of those and the fans were saying “That’s not hardcore!” or some other pretentious shut.

I think Pokémon fans simply love to whine. Even yen they get exactly what they asked for, they’ll change their opinions so they can whine about it.

I can never really get into these games, but I can tell this is going to be huge. People described Let's Go as a watered down remake, and it still sold 10m copies in 2 months. This is actually a brand new game and the first time a new Pokemon game will be coming to a home console. When it comes out, it's going to melt people's faces off. Like if you live in Japan or are a kid under 12, then your face will instantly just melt off.

Probably the only Switch game that will sell more than this, lifetime, will be Mario Kart.
