Definitely was not a good idea to have a visual based trailer when that's clearly a weakness of the game, but still better than just having a logo *cough*Animal Crossing*cough*.

With the amount it sells each release there's no reason at all they couldn't have a big detailed map like GTA other than laziness. Of course laziness is kind of gamefreak's speciality Ah well, hopefully the anime/movies are good. I haven't been too interested in the games since gen 4 anyway, they've just stagnated for far too long and as much as people bigged this up as a revolutionary Pokemon title it really doesn't look anything like that. Just looks like more of the same. I'm happy about that in terms of mechanics (random battles FTW!) but in terms of map design and starter choice I really would have liked something much bigger, better and more interesting than they've ever done before.

Just gonna point out, there has only been 1 monkey starter, the elemental monkeys aren't starter pokemon.

I think the anime will look mature again judging by the 2 main character designs (unlike Sun and Moon)

Looks great! The region looks a lot better than I expected. Very charming, it reminds me of Kalos (and luckily not of Alola). The graphics are nice as well. And I'm very happy to see that they didn't use any of the horrible mechanics from Let's Go (like Pokémon running around in the world).

There's still a lot they can mess up, but so far, so good.

People saying starters look bad I feel I see that same comment every release, the starters look pretty much in line with the series I don't know what some were expecting.
