In my opinion the N64 was not just the best console of the 5th gen but, to this day the best console ever created!

I thought bits of it looked like a big step up over Let's Go, while other parts looked very close. The character models still look quite basic, but the environments look more impressive.

It looks good, but I honestly expected a bit more.Why random battles are back?Camera seems to be a mix of third person and "fixed".The fixed cameras and random battles shouldnt have come back.Tradition is one thing, but sticking to old mechanics is another.

But I have to say that Im still interested.I just hope they push the franchise foward in other aspects.

I'm... not realli impressed. Nor excited. Maybe it's me not really trusting GF and the Pokemon Co. anualizing the main series at the cost of innovation and features over the last couple of years, but there's a great contrast between seeing the X/Y announcement and the Sword/Shield one. Anyway, hoping for the best.



You know it deserves the GOTY.

I'm not sure I like random battles being returned as I prefer Pokemon running around but overall the game does look charming.

I guess, to save alienating the fans of the "old style" (ie. Random battles), they will save the roaming type battles for the lets go series.

Looks pretty much like what I expected. I'm happy the game at least looks marginally better than Let's Go, but it seems like they are definitely re-using a lot of the assets from the Let's Go games. What used to draw me to the Pokemon games was the idea of "catching them all", but recently we have been getting games with these regional Pokedexes that don't allow you to catch everything anymore. Fingers crossed for Sword and Shield, but I think it's a long shot.
