I played in on the Switch until the demo suggested pre ordering the game, then I checked it on the eshop to find that there is 2 versions to pick from, the 30e base game and then the 40e deluxe game... so I'm already thinking if I pay 30e I'm not getting the full game experience, then on top of that I was thinking that there's loot boxes so the buying doesn't stop at 40e as I guess the levels up are going to slow down pretty fast once you get passed the first 10 levels or so, it was already taking a couple of events to get a box by the end of the demo.

The thing that killed it for me though was that by the end of the attempted push of purchase though was when I went to go back to the game and got a fairly shitty reminder that if I didn't pre order the game and pay right now I would miss out on 2 items which were pre order bonus's and I'd be missing out if I didn't shell out the full 40 right there and then without waiting to find the reviews. That was the end of me having the beta on my Switch, either go down the route of Free to play games loaded with micro transactions or charge 30 or 40 for your games, at the point where you ask me for both I just check out right there. I love paladins because that's a free game which doesn't bug too much for cash but offers all the game for free if you want it.. I've played it a ton and spent real money on in game items twice now.

Still though, impressions of the game was.... I thought the game was okay, but the Ubisoft trying to nickle and dime me fairly hard during the beta was just already too much and I wanted out from that by the end of the demo.

Seemed very basic to me and i already own one called Urban Trials playground, which was cheaper and felt very similar. Pass from me.

This could have been a excellent portable game for Switch.
Too bad the game seems badly optimized and the framerate imo is not acceptable for a 2019 release.

Title reads Trails, please correct it if you can.

I enjoyed the beta on Switch. I didn't have any issues with the performance or framerate at all - overall very playable. Graphically I feel like it's fine - on the TV it might look more like an Xbox 360 version of this game rather than PS4/X1. And the game is fun, but not earth shatteringly different from other Trials games. Really you're getting something like Excitebike and the minecart levels in DKC. Good times.

HD rumble feels like a big missed opportunity on this game.

Probably will look for a sale on this game.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

I'm very much in the same boat as you, played in TV didn't have any real performance issues. But yeah I had that other bike trials game on switch and this ubisoft outing didn't seem to be 40e better than what I had so no sale.

I know too that when it does go on sale I'll be añoyed again by the 2 versions and likely not buy it on sale either

Framerate test of the Switch version, Its pretty stable game. The one level I mention in the Op is that sandy dusty one with the train that has quite a few drops.

I mean... that portion you are talking about is in the video you linked from 55seconds to 1:45 or so and it's pretty much locked to 30fps, the average fps of the entire video is 30.01fps at what point are you watching that graph and think "it's pretty stable" in a time where stuff like Anthem is shuddering in the mid 20s almost all the time on any console bar the ps4 pro running in 1080p mode.

Given that quite a few people mentioned performance issues though and others like myself and this video you linked experienced damn close to a locked 30 I'm wondering if it's possible that some users had issues with the version of the beta they got, be it downloaded onto slower SD cards which didn't transfer data fast enough or if the switch was having issues connecting to wifi on the back end like it had with BOTW at launch requiring the wifi be switched off to increase FPS. It just doesn't seem like everyone is playing the same title from the comments.

Perhaps it's down to the config where the game was played, I played the beta exclusively in TV mode, would be a damn shame if the portable mode suffered poor performance since that's always one of the Switches main selling points when it comes to a reason to buy 3rd party titles on it. I'm gonna guess this is 60fps on the ps4/x1?
