The 1 vs 1 were all impressive.

The part I didn't like about GoW was the first half getting away with Hack and Slash. Playing that on Give me God of War as first try without experience with Souls games was a nightmare =p

God of war was a great game on the pro but the controls that were new to the series made it harder that the original God of wars

You can't compare games released in different years like that, for a start the total amount of GOTY awards included in the blog for 2015 was 439 vs 385 for 2018. Then you have to look at the competition in said years and I think we can all agree The Witcher 3 would not have garnered nearly as many awards had it gone up against a game like Red Dead Redemption 2.

True a lot of people love the Red Dead games.  I still put The Witcher 3, Bloodborne, and God of War in my top 5 all time and both Bloodborne and the Witcher 3 were the same year. They all stomp all over RDR2 in metacritic user score with the Witcher 3 being the highest rated ever in user score.  I would put RDR2 somewhere in my top 50 but it was highly disappointing.  It would have eaten up more awards though even though it doesn't deserve them.

Much like Breath of the Wild before it, God of War deserves all the praise it gets. There is no game better than these two games this generation in my opinion. A few come close, but 2017 and 2018 GotY winners are in a league of their own.

I am just glad Red Dead Redemption 2 did not get it.  The game is ok, but it is the most overrated game I have played in a long while.  God of War was better in every way, and I am so glad it came out on top in the end.
