A little low for the Switch this week it seems. It will probably be above 500k next week. Anyway, as i said a couple of times now, i think this is the last time the Switch will dip below 300k ww until last week of january or even february. The lite will push it enough in US/ Japan to stay above it and also the release of games like Dragon Quest will help a lot. until Luigi's mansion/Pokemon and Christmas combo. Maybe it will have a 2 million week duing december too we'll see but honestly my expectations are really high for the Switch and the rest of the year.

I think that's a theme for the last couple weeks now. We'll see in 4 weeks when the quarterly reports gets released, but I'm fairly sure the Switch total sales are undertracked by 100k-200k by now.

Just posted the early Week 38 numbers (Be sure to thank @trunkswd when you can). The Nintendo Switch Lite is finally here and the results did not disappoint. With almost 600,000 units sold this week, the Nintendo Switch just tacked on its biggest week of the year so far and jump-charges its YoY lead up to 1.7 million units. Now comes the real test, the Switch's legs and baseline AFTER the launch. The next 7 weeks should be see the 2019 add to its lead over 2018, considerably and significantly, thanks to the Switch Lite still being fresh + key releases such as Dragon Quest XI S and Luigi's Mansion 3. Then, Week 46 is where it REALLY gets interesting. Last year, Week 46 saw the release of Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee. This year, it will be Pokemon Sword/Shield. Even with these games being the actual, legitimate 8th generation, the are questions as to whether or not the boost for hardware will be as significant as it was last year due to a good chunk of the Pokemon fan base already being on the Switch thanks to Let's Go. After that, there's Black Friday. Last year, it was Week 47. This year, it's Week 48. So, we should expect a massive loss and then a massive win for 2019 in those two weeks. Then comes the month of December, which will be 2019's biggest challenge without question. Will Sword/Shield + the Switch Lite be enough to match up against last year's killer combo of Let's Go + Super Smash Bros. Ultimate? It could go either way. With the Switch Lite being priced at a very affordable $200, I can easily see parents jumping all over that model to gift wrap and put under the Christmas tree for their kid(s). If Nintendo stocks that model properly, (which according to @ZhugeEX, they seem to be doing, "Initial shipment in the US is very large, primarily to cover the early holiday period but also to beat the potential tariffs." - His Twitter, Sept. 24, 2019), and with the right marketing, I think the Switch has the potential to pull in the biggest numbers for a holiday season that we have seen in a very long time. We could be looking at prime Wii/DS holiday levels. But, I could also be setting my hopes & expectations way too high. It's very tough to beat Smash Bros. + the 1st Pokemon games on a system, and. It will be extremely interesting to watch.

As for the PS4 and Xbox One. Well there's not much to say other than it's been going on the same as it has been throughout the year. After a slight boost last week, the Xbox One is right back to where it was before Gears 5 launched. And the PS4 continues to do extremely well despite it's age and continues to march towards the bars set by the Wii and PS1 before it. It should surpass those systems before the end of the year.

Switch now on track for 18 million. Will be on track to beat PS4's 2018 pretty soon, probably by the end of, maybe even the middle of October. Depending on how the holiday goes with Pokemon, 20 million should be possible.

Just posted Week 39 numbers.
The Switch has blown right past the 9 million mark for 2019, 7 weeks earlier than it did in 2018 and that was the week Pokemon Let's Go came out.

I hope Nintendo has enough stock prepared, because this holiday is going to be nuts for the Switch and Switch Lite.

According to @ZhugeEX, Nintendo really up'ed their game with the stocks for Switch Lite for both the holiday season and the possible new tariffs pending from China. So stock shouldn't be an issue at all this holiday season, but if it is... Holy shit.

Holy crap. So Switch is already on track to surpass PS4's 2018, I really didn't expect the Lite to have such an impressive second week hold. If this keeps up, 20 million should be a pretty easy target.

I agree that Switch will sell more than PS4's 2018 this year, but what do you mean by already on track?

Week 39 has Switch at 9.25m vs 10.3m for PS4's 2018.

18.8m has been by prediction for a while, it has a good chance of surpassing that I think, but I don't see it reaching 20m.

Probably because last year Nintendo had a bigger percentage of annual sales coming from Q4 compared to Playstation.

PS4

Q1-Q3, 10.3m (56.5%)

Q4, 7.9m (43.5%)

NSW

Q1-Q3, 7.3m (44.5%)

Q4, 9.0m (55.5%)
